Esquire definitely likes their buzz. In April, they held an online bracket poll to determine the hottest woman of 2012. In October, they name a sexiest woman alive. Sounds like the same thing to me but doing it twice helps you sell more magazines and get more traffic. Anyway, they named Mila Kunis the sexiest woman alive. I don’t agree but it was probably more about business than accuracy.
Since these Man Lab linkdumps are about all life advice for men, not just dating, let’s start with some employment help. Since jobs numbers are up and unemployment is coming down in America, it might be time to give you a quick refresher on getting a job. Here’s how to crush your job interview. (Mandatory)
After the jump, what women notice about men, some dating advice beyond the standard generic tips and the return of Liz Hurley. Continue reading
We’re back with another set of links from the Man Lab to help you with women and make you a better man. That’s why we kick off this post with Cintia Dicker. If ever there was a woman to convince me to make myself a better man, it would be her.
One of the most important things that a man can be is on time. Here’s a look at why you’re always late and how to make yourself more punctual. (The Art of Manliness)
After the jump, advice to help you pick up women, TV for men and the obligatory Kate Upton video. Continue reading
Welcome back to the Man Lab links. A quick skim of the archives shows that we haven’t posted a Man Lab Link-Off since January. Hopefully we haven’t you out to dry without the advice links that we include in these posts. I’d like to think that we made up for it with the content here. Let’s make up for the absence with Miranda Kerr.
Fifteen years ago, British documentary film maker Louis Theroux examined the US porn industry. In his follow-up documentary, he finds an industry that’s been devastated by the rise of free internet porn. (The Guardian)
After the jump, how to know if a woman likes you, a breakdown of all three “Hot 100” lists and the return of Trish Stratus. Continue reading
It’s time for another set of the Man Lab links on the blog. Where else are we going to stick our collection of date advice links? Anyway, to kick off this set of links, it’s Joanna Krupa in her place.
When the smartest man alive talks, you listen. Stephen Hawking has some tips on how women and simple quantum particles/principles are similar. (The Guardian)
After the jump, more help with talking to women, all about booze and Kate Upton’s back! Continue reading
It’s been almost two months since we last gave you our trademark collection of links for guys from our Man Lab. In our defense, we’ve been digging some good stuff up like Brazilian model Elisandra Tomacheski. Based on the disproportionately large number of models that come from there, I think we have to dedicate a Man Lab post to travelling to Brazil.
Ever find yourself in a situation that you just can’t handle? Here are six tip from a con man on how to get yourself through a situation where you’re out of your depth. (Art of Manliness)

After the jump, how to get out of the doghouse, how to meet women if you can’t get out of the doghouse and the world’s top and up-and-coming hotties. Continue reading
One of my all time favourite shows is the classic NBC sitcom NewsRadio. On one episode, the women of WNYX debated the many variations of the word “pretty.” Pretty means just pretty but there are several other words that mean pretty but don’t mean exactly the same thing.
So to make sure that you use the right word to describe a woman, here are the various definitions of words meaning pretty and visual examples of each definition. Continue reading
At the Man Lab, we’re huge advocates of the adage that the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. I’ve never met a woman who wasn’t impressed with a man who is a decent cook. You don’t have to be a Michelin star calibre chef to impress a woman with your culinary prowess. All you need to do is cook something that doesn’t make her want to vomit.
So in today’s Man Lab post, we have three breakfast recipes to try cooking for your girl. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Continue reading
Today’s set of Man Lab approved links has all sorts of lessons that men need to know. The first lesson that we can take from this post is that Pamela Anderson still looks good at 44 (though she probably has some help from some airbrushing specialists).
The crew over at AskMen have wrapped up their Great Male Survey. It’s an important insight into your fellow man. Remember, advance scouting can help you top your competition at the bar. (AskMen)
After the jump, the Code of Men, what women hate and Russia’s greatest grassroots political movement. Continue reading
At Christmas, I examined the ten manliest cocktails for you to order at a bar. However, making yourself look manly with your choice of beverage is only half the battle. There is also the time-honoured tradition of buying drinks for women. This is where most men get hung up. It’s very easy to intercept a waitress and say that her drink is on you or to buy her another round of the same drink. It takes a real man to go off the board and buy her a drink of your choice.
So we’ve tasked the Man Lab with figuring out which cocktails are the best to order for women. Continue reading
