Entertainment Link-Off: Recycle and Reuse

amber heardAlright, the Entertainment Link-Off is being posted on a Saturday once again! Here’s an early warning though, it will be delayed next week and I will go on a one week hiatus after that. This edition features Amber Heard. She’s in the horror remake The Stepfather, which is out this weekend. If you’re not interested in that, you can go check her out in Zombieland.

After the jump 500 Days of Summer DVD release date, some Glee stuff, Westlife lied, rapping in Klingon and Zach Braff is not dead. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Anyone Can Happen

eliza-dushku-dichen-lachman-01After a week hiatus, I’m back! Hopefully Steve’s Entertainment Link-Off wasn’t too painful to read. This week, let’s shift the focus back onto entertainment related topics only. Yesterday marked the return of Dollhouse on FOX. After seeing Epitaph One, I was totally pumped for the season premiere. I wasn’t expecting the show to return due to its anemic ratings, but sometimes TV miracles can happen (hurray for budget cuts). If you aren’t watching the show… what’s wrong with you? Dichen Lachman and Eliza Duskhu (pictured) should be good enough reasons to tune in.

After the jump there’s some comic book movies stuff, CW’s neverending cycle of suckage and get your Glee on with ‘Single Ladies’. Continue reading

The Humanoids: Loose Ends

The theme behind this week’s Humanoids is tying up loose ends. Or at least that’s generally the idea.  Everyone has loose ends that need tying up at some time or other. Most of my subjects of ridicule had some loose end that is being tied up or just coming to light. I know that I have some loose ends that need tying up. Actually, I can’t find enough time to tie up all of my loose ends. Despite their public loose ends being tied up, that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg for my victims.

Just a reminder that The Lowdown radio show returns next Tuesday at 6:30 PM on 94.9 FM in London, ON, and on CHRWradio.com. It’s going to be a fun half-hour of laughs and excitement that you don’t want to miss. We’ll have the downloadable versions of the show online around 7:00 PM including the first ever Lowdown Extra broadcast. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Get Your Glee On!

dianna agron 1Alright Lowdown Blog readers, are you ready to get your Glee on? The series just aired the director’s cut of the pilot episode this past Wednesday (along with that tweetpeat thing) on FOX. If you’re not singing along to Don’t Stop Believing right now, you should be. Anyway the season premiere of the show will be airing this Wednesday at 9 pm on FOX (and Global in Canada).

Headlining this link-off post is Dianna Agron because she’s part of the awesome cast on this fantastic show!

After the jump, a bit more on Glee, NBC’s journey to epic failure (almost), K-Fed is a tub of lard, Disney buying Marvel might not be a bad thing after all and singing on X-Factor is a very ‘hard’ thing to do. Continue reading

Comic-Con 2009: Saturday Roundup

Saturday was a busy day with many interesting panels going on throughout the day. There was some awesomeness from Chuck, fun stuff from the Glee panel, lots of destruction for Zombieland and 2012, Kevin Smith pays a visit to please all the nerds out there and of course… new material from Iron Man 2! Continue reading

FOX Announces Primetime Schedule for 2009/2010 Season

glee 1 “Don’t stop believing!” I got that song stuck in my head and it’s on full rotation ever since I watched the extended trailer for the new FOX show “Glee” (the sneak preview airs tomorrow night after American Idol). This is one of the new shows on the FOX 2009/2010 schedule. So does FOX’s schedule look any good? Find out after the jump. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Good News, Bad News

minka kelly 3The television networks are preparing to announce their fall schedules next week. Headlining this article is Minka Kelly. The soon to be former Friday Night Lights star is set to play the lead in the new CW pilot Body Politic. Unfortunately the pilot is being overshadowed by Twilight: The Series Vampire Diaries, recycled material Melrose Place 2.0 and a scripted version of America’s Next Top Model Beautiful Life. So here I am doing another plug in hopes of generating more attention to a potentially good show, unlike the other stuff that the CW has to offer. I want the show to make it into the fall schedule because it has a great cast and it has a storyline that doesn’t involve a bunch of rich spoiled teens (also the inner VM/FNL fan is also yearning to see this)! While Body Politic isn’t generating enough buzz, the good news is that it appears people are starting to warm up to it. However, the bad news is that the CW usually makes the wrong decisions and are too stupid to realize it until it’s too late (in this case, pick up Vampire Diaries, Beautiful Life and Melrose Place 2.o instead).

After the jump… some good news… and bad news… Continue reading
