The third episode of the third season was the fortieth new episode in the show’s almost two-year history. On tonight’s episode, Steve and Jackie debate what happened at Queen’s Fauxcoming weekend and the administration and police reaction to the planned party. They also talk about Homecoming and partying at Western. In the news, the guys discuss some dumb new laws/rules just enacted in America. Entertainment features a new single, Britney Spears making her Lowdown review on the Worst of Music and a review of Zombieland. Sports starts with Jackie breaking down the new look Toronto Raptors. The boys close off the show with the return of Role Play where they try to be Mats Sundin, Jim Balsillie, Jeff Garcia, and Barack Obama.

On Lowdown Extra, the guys talk a little more about Homecoming and Fauxcoming. There are a couple more news stories dealing with law failures. Basketball is the theme (literally and figuratively) of this week’s It Came From YouTube segment. Jackie spends more time breaking down the 2009-10 Toronto Raptors. And there are a couple of more famous faces that turn up for Role Play. In all, there is an extra 15 minutes of Lowdown action on the Extra. As always, all the action comes to you uncut and uncensored.

I had a lot on my plate the past few days; hence this post was delayed. Anyway, the new Entertainment Link-Off is here! It’s Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This weekend also marks the release of the ensemble comedy Couples Retreat. Apparently it’s horrible, but Kristen Bell is in it! That should be worth snatching an admission ticket.
After the jump some tidbits on Friday Night Lights, cartoons gone wild and what would the movie 2012 be like without CGI? Continue reading
The third episode of The Lowdown’s 2009-2010 season is on air on Tuesday night. We’re putting up the preview early so that we don’t spring this on you while you’re half asleep from Monday’s turkey dinner. It’s even a sort of special show because it’s our 40th episode. The show starts with Steve and Jackie talking about Queen’s Fauxcoming and Western’s standing as a party school. In the news, the guys discuss dumb American rules/laws. In entertainment, Britney Spears makes her Lowdown debut on the worst in music and the guys review Zombieland. When the gears shift to sports, Jackie previews the rebuilt Toronto Raptors before joining Steve to answer questions as athletes in some sports Role Play. And we have the return of Barack to show for that.
The show goes live at around 6:30 PM Eastern. If you’re in the London, ON, listening area, you can listen live on 94.9 FM. You can also listen online at CHRWradio.com/listen.
Welcome to another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. In celebration of the release of Zombieland, here’s Emma Stone.
After the jump, more zombie related stuff, sex gone wrong, some movie news and take a look at how certain movie franchises should have ended. Continue reading
Summer is coming to an end. Sad but true. Aside from the cooler weather, you can tell that that summer is ending by the fact that movie studios are dumping craptacular flicks for our viewing pleasure. We have two films that are not screened for critics this weekend. First is Halloween II, which is Rob Zombie’s follow-up to his somewhat successful Halloween remake. There’s also the fourth installment of the Final Destination franchise titled “The Final Destination” starring Bobby Campo and Shantel VanSanten (pictured). Whether this will actually be the final destination remains to be seen. I have a sneaking suspicion that it depends on how much money it makes. Oh did I mention it’s in 3D? Great… as if we needed more films that use 3D as a silly gimmick.
After the jump Mac vs. PC, Marvel vs. DC, Fanboys vs. The Weinsteins and Hitler vs. Avatar? Continue reading
It’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off! This weekend marks the release of the highly anticipated G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It’s one of the last summer action-fests, so head out to the theatres to check it out… I know I’ll be there! If you’re not interested in the storyline or anything, just remember this movie features a nifty fight scene between Rachel Nichols (pictured) and Sienna Miller! Mrow!
After the jump more 500 Days of Summer stuff, some movie casting news and almost everybody hates NBC. Continue reading
