When the Xbox One was unveiled last year and presented again at E3 last June, the focus wasn’t really on the games. Microsoft was more interested in pitching the Xbox One as an all-in-one entertainment unit for the living room by touting the entertainment apps and Kinect integration. Between not worrying about the games, the lingering DRM controversy and a price point $100 higher than the PlayStation 4, Microsoft has been in catch up mode for the last twelve months.
It’s amazing what a difference a year makes. With new Xbox division boss Phil Spencer at the helm, this year’s Microsoft E3 press conference was all about the games. The Kinect was hardly mentioned. Entertainment apps may as well not have existed.
Alright Lowdown Blog readers, are you ready to get your Glee on? The series just aired the director’s cut of the pilot episode this past Wednesday (along with that tweetpeat thing) on FOX. If you’re not singing along to Don’t Stop Believing right now, you should be. Anyway the season premiere of the show will be airing this Wednesday at 9 pm on FOX (and Global in Canada).
Headlining this link-off post is Dianna Agron because she’s part of the awesome cast on this fantastic show!
After the jump, a bit more on Glee, NBC’s journey to epic failure (almost), K-Fed is a tub of lard, Disney buying Marvel might not be a bad thing after all and singing on X-Factor is a very ‘hard’ thing to do. Continue reading
After a slight delay (again), this week’s edition of the Entertainment Link-Off is finally here! This weekend marks the release of the highly anticipated film adaptation of the novel The Time Traveler’s Wife, hence I’m using Rachel McAdams to kick off this entry. The film was scheduled to be released last fall, but thanks to Star Trek (which is a fantastic film by the way) requiring Eric Bana to shave his head for the role Nero, the reshoots for The Time Traveler’s Wife couldn’t take place until he grew his hair back. So how was the movie? Did it remain faithful to the novel? Find out later when I post the movie review. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the happenings in film, TV and whatnot.
After the jump some Time Traveler’s Wife stuff, notes about upcoming films, Megan Fox talks about peer pressure and we find out what G.I. Joes do during their free time. Continue reading
It’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off! This weekend marks the release of the highly anticipated G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It’s one of the last summer action-fests, so head out to the theatres to check it out… I know I’ll be there! If you’re not interested in the storyline or anything, just remember this movie features a nifty fight scene between Rachel Nichols (pictured) and Sienna Miller! Mrow!
After the jump more 500 Days of Summer stuff, some movie casting news and almost everybody hates NBC. Continue reading
