Entertainment Link-Off: The Story Begins…

In the Man-Lab Showdown yesterday, we totally left out another star of the film, Rose Byrne. The Aussie actress is having one heck of a summer with the surprise hit Bridesmaids and now appearing as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: The First Class. Given this weekend marks the release of the mutant franchise prequel, it would be appropriate to kick off the weekend entries with the ladies from the film. Speaking of which, X-Men: The First Class is a refreshing, engaging entry to the X-Men films, so check it out in theatres when you get the chance.

Sunday Link-Off: Boom Goes The Dynamite

It’s time for another edition of the Sunday links. To celebrate no more new Glee episodes for the next four months, here’s Lea Michele.

The ESPN book came out came out this week and ESPN radio even featured interviews with the author. However, ESPN higher-ups scripted the interviews so ESPN wouldn’t come out looking too bad. Former ESPN personalities Dan Patrick and Rich Eisen saw the humour in the situation. (Sports By Brooks)

It’s deja vu for Hangover 2! So we get a rehash of the hit comedy, except this time it’s set in Thailand. I don’t know about you, but the trailer was definitely not as funny the second time around. Anyway, this installment got rid of Heather Graham and threw in Jamie Chung instead. So here she is kicking off the ELO this week.

If ‘At World’s End’ didn’t quite drive you away from the franchise, feel free to have another go at it. Entertainment Link-Off: Chick Flicks Don’t Suck!

This weekend at the box office it’s priests vs. vampires or a fun raunchy comedy featuring bridesmaids. While the former is garnering negative reviews, the latter flick is getting rave reviews across the board. Rose Byrne struts her comedic chops once again in the Judd Apatow produced comedy, so it might be worth checking out Bridesmaids at the theatres after all.
