Sunday Link-Off: Foreign Affairs

For example, a effects of a war in another part of the world will be front page news in this part. A lot of the news stories in this week’s SLO have an international impact.

So with that preamble out of the way, it’s time for the links. Here’s Penelope Cruz who was named Esquire’s sexiest woman alive. Before anyone complains, realize that it’s all marketing for everyone involved.

Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien wrote an op-ed supporting a non-combat role against ISIS which once again puts him opposed to Stephen Harper’s Middle East military policy. Chretien was right in 2003. Could he be right again here? (The Globe and Mail)

Entertainment Link-Off: End of the World

This weekend marks the release of the swashbuckling-fest Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides. If ‘At World’s End’ didn’t quite drive you away from the franchise, feel free to have another go at it. Sunday Link-Off: Stuff You Gotta Watch

The Oscars are tonight which means I have to put in a couple of token movie links. But the good news about the Oscars is that Penelope Cruz is there and nominated for an award.

Tecmo Bowl is back! I need this game in my life. (LA Times) If anyone at Tecmo is reading this, I’d love to review this one against the original Tecmo Bowl… Assuming that I can get my old NES working.

In honour of last night’s Razzies and tonight’s Oscars, it’s a look at the ten worst sports movies of all-time. (Sports Pickle) Hey! I liked #10 as a kid! Especially the soundtrack. The Band’s Stuff You Gotta Watch is on my iPod. Now if I can find it.
