Since it seems like everything at NBC is going down the crapper (yes, that includes Southland being canned before the season premiere has even aired), I suppose it is a good time to start speculating when Chuck will be appearing on our TV screens once again. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Nut Up or Shut Up

Entertainment Link-Off: Anyone Can Happen
After a week hiatus, I’m back! Hopefully Steve’s Entertainment Link-Off wasn’t too painful to read. This week, let’s shift the focus back onto entertainment related topics only. Yesterday marked the return of Dollhouse on FOX. After seeing Epitaph One, I was totally pumped for the season premiere. I wasn’t expecting the show to return due to its anemic ratings, but sometimes TV miracles can happen (hurray for budget cuts). If you aren’t watching the show… what’s wrong with you? Dichen Lachman and Eliza Duskhu (pictured) should be good enough reasons to tune in.
After the jump there’s some comic book movies stuff, CW’s neverending cycle of suckage and get your Glee on with ‘Single Ladies’. Continue reading
Music Review: Boys Like Girls – Love Drunk
With the first single “Love Drunk” circling the airwaves right now, Boys Like Girls are back with their second album which shares the same name as their lead single. The band hailing from Boston, Massachusetts who is known for their catchy pop/rock tunes will please many fans as their latest album continues to pump out radio friendly tunes. Does the album generate enough of a buzz to get you to snatch it up from the music store? Find out after the jump. Continue reading
Entertainment Link-Off: Another One Bites the Dust
This weekend at the box office is the battle of the eye candy (and maybe slasher flicks). First we have Kate Beckinsale starring in the Antarctic murder mystery Whiteout. Next up there’s Sorority Row, the remake of the 1983 horror movie The House on Sorority Row. Expect to see plenty of attractive ladies get chased and hacked by a hooded killer. Jamie Chung is part of the cast for this movie, but since she’s not the “leading girl”, I bet her character won’t make it out of this one.
Before I kick this off I would like to mention that DirecTV has announced the fourth season to Friday Night Lights will premiere on October 28th! Mark your calendars! Of course, if you’re still waiting for NBC to air it, don’t expect to get your weekly FNL fix until summer 2010.
After the jump Vampire Diaries doesn’t suck, TV is good for you and we learn about the evolution of the peace sign. Continue reading
Entertainment Link-Off: Get Your Glee On!
Alright Lowdown Blog readers, are you ready to get your Glee on? The series just aired the director’s cut of the pilot episode this past Wednesday (along with that tweetpeat thing) on FOX. If you’re not singing along to Don’t Stop Believing right now, you should be. Anyway the season premiere of the show will be airing this Wednesday at 9 pm on FOX (and Global in Canada).
Headlining this link-off post is Dianna Agron because she’s part of the awesome cast on this fantastic show!
After the jump, a bit more on Glee, NBC’s journey to epic failure (almost), K-Fed is a tub of lard, Disney buying Marvel might not be a bad thing after all and singing on X-Factor is a very ‘hard’ thing to do. Continue reading
Movie Review: Post Grad
We all go through the quarter life crisis at some point in our twenties. We either have everything planned out only to watch things fall apart or we simply have everything at hand but are struggling to decide what to do. Post Grad could have taken this concept and made a thoughtful movie out of it, unfortunately it failed to do so. Post Grad is not a great movie, but at the same time it does have its charm and it provides decent entertainment for 89 minutes. Continue reading
Entertainment Link-Off: Killer Weekend
Summer is coming to an end. Sad but true. Aside from the cooler weather, you can tell that that summer is ending by the fact that movie studios are dumping craptacular flicks for our viewing pleasure. We have two films that are not screened for critics this weekend. First is Halloween II, which is Rob Zombie’s follow-up to his somewhat successful Halloween remake. There’s also the fourth installment of the Final Destination franchise titled “The Final Destination” starring Bobby Campo and Shantel VanSanten (pictured). Whether this will actually be the final destination remains to be seen. I have a sneaking suspicion that it depends on how much money it makes. Oh did I mention it’s in 3D? Great… as if we needed more films that use 3D as a silly gimmick.
After the jump Mac vs. PC, Marvel vs. DC, Fanboys vs. The Weinsteins and Hitler vs. Avatar? Continue reading
Entertainment Link-Off: Quarter Life Crisis
With the poor economy and the abundance of recent college graduates struggling to find a job, the film Post Grad starring Alexis Bledel takes advantage of this situation in hopes of drawing a crowd. In fact it is a nice counter programming to Quentin Tarantino’s latest film Inglorious Basterds. Post Grad does have a nice cast that includes Batman Michael Keaton, Jane Lynch and FNL’s Zach Gilford. Too bad the film is struggling to find good reviews, but if Roger Ebert likes it, it can’t be that bad can it?
After the jump, revisiting The Time Traveler’s Wife, Snoop Dogg tackles Millionaire and some old Ah-nold footage that the Governator doesn’t want you to see. Continue reading
Movie Review: G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra
Following the footsteps of fellow Hasbro toyline Transformers, the war toy turned cartoon turned cartoony motion picture has finally hit the big screens. Is it worth forking out ten bucks to see this at the theatres? Find out after the jump. Continue reading
