Top Five James Bond Video Game Theme Songs

The recent release of the new GoldenEye 007 game by Activision also brought us a new take on the GoldenEye theme originally sung by Tina Turner. For the game, it’s sung by Nicole Scherzinger. But the new GoldenEye game isn’t the only Bond game that got an exclusive theme song. As with every other Bond theme, there’s debate as to which theme is the best. So here’s our rankings of the best James Bond video game themes. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Rihanna – What’s My Name?

The second winner of the Worst of Music award on the blog goes to a radio show regular. Rihanna is a multi-time winner of the WoM on The Lowdown BlogCast and joins Ke$ha as a winner on the blog as well as podcast. Of course, it was Rihanna who was my inspiration for creating the Worst of Music on the podcast to begin with so it’s only fitting that she wins the award yet again for What’s My Name? Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Gives You Hell

Let’s kick off my last go at the entertainment links for the next while with Aly Michalka who stars in some CW show that nobody watches.

Ever wonder where studios get all the cars they feature and/or wreck in their movies? There’s one man that Hollywood prefers for their vehicular mayhem who’s appropriately called Fireball Tim. (Wired)

After the jump, David Prowse ruins The Empire Strikes Back, the cast of Toronto’s Jersey Shore knockoff, a special unofficial X-Men game, and the latest TRON trailer. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Ke$ha – We R Who We R

Since we’re in our podcast’s offseason (more or less), we aren’t running our usual Worst of Music segment. So I’ve decided to bring it over to the blog for a bit and fill you in on what is this week’s Worst of Music. And when better to do it than on what used to be a #MusicMonday on Twitter. For the first winner of the WoM on the blog, here’s the new top song on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. It’s Ke$ha with We R Who We R. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: The Backup Plan

I’m doing the entertainment links for next couple of weeks. So to hold you over until regular service resumes here’s Amber Tamblyn who stars in 127 Hours which premieres this weekend. She also starts her guest stint on House this Monday.

In our last podcast, we tried and failed to figure out who really is “America’s Sweetheart.” Fortunately, we’re not the only one wondering something along those lines. A British columnist wants to know what happened to the girl next door. (The Independent)

After the jump, The Daily Show whips everyone’s candy asses, the return of GoldenEye, and a classic cartoon theme medley. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: The Night Before Halloween

It’s near the end of October, so that means Halloween is here! While the usual horror fare hits the theatres this weekend, perhaps it’s a better alternative to just go party it up Halloween style or just simply go trick or treating. Kicking off this entry is Taylor Cole. You might remember her from the now defunct WB series Summerland. Anyway she’s currently in NBC’s The Event. The serialized drama is on a ratings freefall, but this is a good enough reason to keep the show on the air no?

After the jump more pumpkin ideas, behind the scenes on Scott Pilgrim, Disney thinks the old Tron movie is an embarrassment, the Fine Brothers spoil horror movies for you and see the Light Runner in action! Continue reading

Top Gear on 60 Minutes

As frequent readers know, our favourite TV at The Lowdown Blog is BBC’s Top Gear. Taken at face value, it’s a show about cars and the people who drive them. Really, it’s about three middle-aged men (and a formerly anonymous racing driver) who act like school kids, drive really fast, say whatever they feel like and have a good time doing it. For whatever reason, the iconic news show 60 Minutes went over to England to profile the show and its hosts. After the jump, we have the full 60 Minutes story on Top Gear. Continue reading

Rumour: New Star Wars Movies In The Works?

An internet report says that the Star Wars movie bug has bitten George Lucas once again. The task of converting Episodes I through VI of the Star Wars saga is said to have inspired Lucas to work on sequels to the original Star Wars trilogy. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: (Not) Full Frontal

Jump starting the latest edition of the Entertainment Link-Off is Dianna Agron from the latest GQ photoshoot. I suppose this fits with the Wednesday Link-Off when Steve featured Agron’s castmate Lea Michele.  After seeing these ‘provocative’ pictures, would you be tuning into the FOX musical comedy on Tuesday nights now?

After the jump, Zack Galifianakis got Galifianakis’ed, sneak peek at Kick Ass 2, Tron Legacy posters galore, Jessica Alba’s fake nude scene, more on the GQ Glee photoshoot that caused an uproar, great movie censoring moments on TV and a new music recommendation of the week. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Nothing Suits Me Like A Suit

Kicking off the latest Entertainment Link-Off is Lyndsy Fonseca. Yes, you’ve seen her in films like Kick Ass and Hot Tub Time Machine, but she also had the role of “the daughter” on How I Met Your Mother and is currently starring alongside Maggie Q on CW’s Nikita. While the spy show isn’t performing badly in CW standards, it could use a few more viewers.

After the jump, the Hulk returns to TV, Drive Angry 3D stuff, a hobbit reunion, a very good reason why you need to watch Chuck, troubles on the Transformers set, an explosive Conan promo and Abed from NBC’s Community delivers a baby. Continue reading
