After four weeks off, the 2011 Formula One World Championship is back in full-force for the stretch run. With eight races to go, Sebastian Vettel holds an 85 point lead over teammate Mark Webber. That’s equivalent to over three race wins meaning Vettel can sit out the next three Grands Prix and still hold a 10 point lead in the championship. It looks like back-to-back titles are in the cards for Vettel but McLaren still like their chances. Continue reading
Wednesday Link-Off: Psychic Benefits
Let’s kick off these links with Chrissy Teigen who is working her magic near the stove. Did you know that she has a food blog?
As often as we link articles about how much Grantland sucks, it does occasionally come through. For example, Malcolm Gladwell finally gets his first Grantland story up about how owning an NBA team isn’t about making money so the lockout is basically pointless. (Grantland)
Is the middle class dead or is it still possible to save them? (The Atlantic)
I’m sure you’ve seen the epic brawl between Georgetown and the Chinese professional team by now. But have you seen the world’s best breakdown of the fight and its winners and losers? (SB Nation)
After the jump, hockey fight club for kids, a Dell vs. HP slap fight and Healthy Meal Time. Continue reading
How People Are Using Twitter (Infographic)
I’m an unabashed Twitter addict. Whenever I’m working on the blog, I have TweetDeck running in the background. I’m always tweeting and retweeting throughout the day. So naturally, I get a lot of questions from people I know about why they would need Twitter and complaints that they have nothing to Tweet about. Well, they aren’t alone according to this infographic about Twitter. It’s a graphical breakdown of a survey about Twitter and there’s definitely things to learn about Tweeps from it. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger
I’ve never really understood why people like Maroon 5. Lead singer Adam Levine has an odd voice and the entire reason he seems to be in a band is so he can make out and roll around nude with impossibly gorgeous models in music videos. Unfortunately for us, he has to make music if he wants to keep sampling the talent which leads us to this week’s Worst of Music. Maroon 5 is back with a new single that only took two months after its debut on The Singing Bee (or whatever X-Factor knock-off that Levine was a part of on NBC) to near the top of the Billboard charts. This week’s WoM is Moves Like Jagger. Continue reading
Sunday Link-Off: Big Picture
Is it just me or has this week flown by? Maybe it has to do with everything that’s happened in the world over the last seven days. But let’s try to get things back to normal with Salma Hayek who looks her amazing mind-bogglingly amazing usual.
The sports world has been abuzz with the impending collapse of the University of Miami football program after this Yahoo investigative report which details illegal benefits given to players. (Yahoo Sports) Of course, the U’s big mistake was getting caught. I’d be willing to bet it happens everywhere.
The other big story in the sports world is this feature-length interview of Michael Vick. (GQ)
It’s been about two months since the launch of Bill Simmons’ Grantland website. However, as this takedown of Bill’s site says, it’s all been much ado about nothing. (Bryan Joiner)
After the jump, potential new NHL rules, TBS’ failure with Conan and Roenick makes Gretzky’s head bleed. Continue reading
Entertainment Link-Off: Trust Thy Neighbour?
The weekend is here, so it’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Likn-Off. Kicking things off is British actress Imogen Poots. She can be seen in the latest flick, Fright Night, as the main character’s love interest.
After the jump, a look at remake rules, a debate on whether spectacle is more important than story in film, superhero themed sex positions, quirky girls exposed and finally a cool acoustic cover of a dance track. Continue reading
Lowdown Pub Quiz: Week 2
On the last podcast, we did our first Lowdown pub quiz where our intrepid hosts/bloggers competed in a battle of wits (Or, in Steve’s case, half of it). In our first attempt at this, Steve noted that they both scored 5 out of 7. The difference between the two is that Jackie got 5 of 7 right while Steve got 5 of 7 wrong. Can Steve redeem himself in our second quiz or will Jackie grow the lead? Hit the jump for this week’s quiz. Continue reading
The Humanoids: Bright Lights, Bigger City
As I’m wont to do when I get to travel to the centre of the universe, occasionally also referred to as Toronto, today’s column focuses on the small town perspective of the big city. I don’t really get to Toronto very often but I find it such a fascinating place to go. It’s so different from what I’m used to in my daily routine that it really can be a bit of a shock. After all, I come from a town where public transit consists of bus routes where you see the bus once an hour. Toronto has buses, subways, GO trains and streetcars. The big city certainly is a strange place. Continue reading
Man Lab Link-Off: Back In The Game
It’s been a whole three weeks since we last ran a set of link provided by the Man Lab. To make up for the lack of recent links, here’s Bar Refaeli.
If there’s a list of top party schools out there, it’s the job of the Man Lab to find it for you. The latest list is from the Princeton Review which calls Ohio University America’s top party school. (The Big Lead)
After the jump, how to get out of the doghouse, how to meet women if you can’t get out of the doghouse and the world’s top and up-and-coming hotties. Continue reading
