Late Night Link-Off: The Great Linkdump Caper

Welcome to the first installment in what is our late-night linkdump here on the blog. We’re now negotiating doing a weekly linkdump for our pals over at a blog to be named when we complete the deal. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for our American friends. Usually, Thanksgiving dinner involves a turkey and football. More recently the Turducken has become increasingly popular at the dinner table. But now, some lunatics with a very good health insurance plan have created the ultimate in Thanksgiving meals. Not News of the Week

If it’s not worth talking about, then it must be the Not News of the Week.

It’s not often that a Hollywood celebrity finds themselves in the Not News but not every celeb has a tale like Dick Van Dyke. A couple of weeks ago, he went on the Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson and told this story: “I went out once and fell asleep on (a surf) board. I did. And I woke up out of sight of land, and I looked around and I started paddling with the swells and I start seeing fins swimming around me, and I thought, ‘I’m dead.’ They turned out to be porpoises. They pushed me all the way to shore. I’m not kidding.” He’s 84 years old. Could that be the senility kicking in? Continue reading →

Worst of Music: Lady Gaga – Telephone

When I put out the call for recommendations for the Worst of Music award, I knew I was going to get some good ones… or bad ones. For example, last week, I got a passionate recommendation for this week’s WoM so I had to run with it. Lady Gaga’s Telephone had come and gone from the Billboard Hot 100 charts a while back but the WoM has no statute of limitations. Formula One: Pirelli Tires Test

For the first time in 19 years, Pirelli tires took to the track on a Formula One race car. Just days after the final race of the season, most of the stars of F1 were back testing to get a head start on the 2011 season. Like it was toward the end of the season, Ferrari was the dominant car in this season as the Scuderia had the fastest car on each of the two days of the test.
