Tracy Morgan Is A Sarah Palin Fan

Tracy Morgan is a funny guy and we can never exactly be sure what’s going to come out of his mouth. The NBA on TNT crew found this out first-hand when they had him on their pregame show Thursday night before a Heat/Knicks game. When asked if Sarah Palin was hot, Morgan had one of the all-time great answers. Continue reading

Not News of the Week

It’s time for all the news that’s not fit for print. It’s time for the Not News of the Week.

I’ve never been a big fan of career politicians but I’ve finally found one that I can support. A Brazilian clown working under the stage name Tiririca won a seat in Brazil’s congress when he was elected as a federal deputy for Sao Paulo. He won in his electoral district by nearly double the number of votes as the next closest candidate who happened to be a former governor of Rio. Tiririca’s campaign was boosted by the use of ads posted on YouTube and viewed millions of times. Among his campaign slogans were “It can’t get any worse” and “What does a federal deputy do? Truly, I don’t know. But vote for me and I will find out for you.” No wonder why he got elected. He’s smarter than most politicians and actually tells the truth. Continue reading

Lowdown BlogCast Classic: September 16, 2008

With frosh week officially kicking off yesterday at UWO, I thought it was appropriate to bust out this classic Lowdown radio show episode. The show starts with Steve and Jackie discussing sports as the show gets out of the block backwards. Talk moves on to the news with the beginning of our infamous “I was on the internet this week” gags. The news includes a man who robbed a 7-Eleven with a unique getaway vehicle and a Muslim man with 86 wives. In the entertainment news, the guys look at McFly’s and Metallica’s new singles in the short-lived duelling singles of the week and look at some of the TV premieres that were upcoming. The feature interview was a look at political spin with award-winning author and politics journalist Judah Freed. That’s appropriate now with the possibility of an upcoming federal election. The show wraps up with Steve touring buildings on the UWO campus that frosh weren’t likely to go to including the Law Building, the D.B. Wheldon Library, the Ivey Business School, and the Thompson Engineering Building. He even managed to get a sneak peak at the then under construction Campus Recreation Centre.

Best of The Lowdown BlogCast: August 3, 2010

So the guys figured that if they can take Canada Day off, they can also get Civic Holiday off too. That means it’s time for another Best Of episode of the third season of The Lowdown BlogCast. This retrospective starts with the third edition of your favourite political sports-action-entertainment segment Raw is CPAC. That’s followed up by Steve’s review of The Beatles: Rock Band. Then a pair of Steve’s make the entertainment segment of the show. First, Stephen Harper makes It Came From YouTube. Then our very own Steve wins the Worst of Music. The boys examine the Conservative government’s plans to change the lyrics of Oh Canada using a “secret recording.” After a quick commercial break (for the Strokemeister), Steve takes a trip to an H1N1 vaccination clinic. The show closes up with a promo for Steve’s latest album, Home on the Range.
