When I floated this idea out on Twitter, I was half joking. But I thought I should just go ahead and see what sort of weird fan art and images are floating around online. I’m shocked nobody has compiled these sooner because there are definitely some fan artists out there who should be monitored at all times by police. So here are twelve of the creepiest/stalkery-est examples of “fan art” that are on the internet. Continue reading

Lowdown BlogCast: August 9, 2011
To show that we don’t always take months between podcasts, here’s another episode of The Lowdown BlogCast. This edition starts on a serious note as Steve and Jackie talk about the colossal failure that is the solution to the US Debt Crisis. They then debut the new Lowdown Pub Quiz in which Steve and Jackie compete in a battle of inferior intellect. (Well, at least in Steve’s case.) Hockey talk starts up with a quick analysis of the Winnipeg Jets’ new logos. The boys look at Philadelphia’s “Dry Island” policy that allegedly led to Mike Richards and Jeff Carter getting traded and what say should have in their players’ personal lives. Entertainment features Lights as Jackie’s single of the week and a throwback to the guys’ childhoods in It Came From YouTube. Lights also leads the boys to look at the schedule for UWO’s 2011 O-Week and how it’s changed since their O-Week in 2005. They talk about film nudity after news came out that Olivia Wilde’s nudity in The Change Up was CGI’d in. Entertainment wraps up with a discussion of the upcoming Battleship movie and director Peter Berg’s credits. The show wraps up with the return of the Car Wall as the boys break down another website’s list of eight cars guaranteed to pick up women and determine that it’s catastrophically wrong. In total, we have over two hours of great Lowdown action.

Man Lab: The Many Meanings of Pretty
One of my all time favourite shows is the classic NBC sitcom NewsRadio. On one episode, the women of WNYX debated the many variations of the word “pretty.” Pretty means just pretty but there are several other words that mean pretty but don’t mean exactly the same thing.
So to make sure that you use the right word to describe a woman, here are the various definitions of words meaning pretty and visual examples of each definition. Continue reading
Worst of Music: JLS – She Makes Me Wanna
One of the hardest parts of doing the Worst of Music is finding new WoM winners when the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten is filled with past WoM winners. This week’s Billboard top ten has five past WoM winners and a few pretty good songs to fill it out (shockingly). So I took a look at the UK Singles charts and didn’t have to look far for a WoM worthy song. I’ve never heard of JLS but after listening to their new #1 single, I wish no one else had either. Winning the Worst of Music award this week is X-Factor runner-up JLS for She Makes Me Wanna. Continue reading
Sunday Link-Off: Holy Mackinaw
I’d like to say there’s a theme to today’s Sunday links but there really isn’t. For example, there’s no real rhyme or reason to kicking off with Miranda Kerr.
Last week, I linked a New Yorker story that looked behind-the-scenes of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. It turns out that it might have been too good to be true. (Registan)
I haven’t gotten to the part of the ESPN Book about the feud between Michelle Beadle and Erin Andrews but it looks like it might be getting out of control. Take the ESPYs after parties, for example. (Awful Announcing)
There’s a Joe Bowen rap? This beats the hell out of those Harvey’s and V-Tech commercials. Are we sure it wasn’t Young Offender but DGB that made this? (Down Goes Brown)
After the jump, how the pros flirt on Twitter, the McGangBang and the greatest card trick ever. Continue reading
The Best of Animals Being Dicks
It’s time for us to add a new website to our ever-growing Best of the Interweb series. This time, we’ve got one of the hottest Tumblr blogs in the world right now. It’s a Tumblog that collect hilarious animated GIFs of animals being dicks called Animals Being Dicks. If you think it’s funny to watch animals be jerks to humans and other animals, then this 21st century equivalent to America’s Funniest Home Videos is for you. Continue reading
Man Lab Showdown: Megan Fox vs. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Technically, we’re a month late for the epic Transformers showdown of Michael Bay’s two pieces of constantly-in-peril eye candy. The original Transformers girl was Megan Fox who shot to fame in the role of the girl who inexplicably hooked up with Shia LaBeouf’s character. Then she got fired because Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg didn’t like the idea of an actress who had a mind of her own. So they hired Transformers 3 girl Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, a model who’s acting experience was limited to pretending to be attracted to Jason Statham.
More photos and the poll after the jump. Continue reading
Man Lab: Breakfast In Bed Recipes
At the Man Lab, we’re huge advocates of the adage that the way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. I’ve never met a woman who wasn’t impressed with a man who is a decent cook. You don’t have to be a Michelin star calibre chef to impress a woman with your culinary prowess. All you need to do is cook something that doesn’t make her want to vomit.
So in today’s Man Lab post, we have three breakfast recipes to try cooking for your girl. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Continue reading
Wednesday Link-Off: The Must Reads
We’ve loaded up on interesting and high-quality articles for today’s linkdump. I’m not sure there’s one here that you want to skip. Anyway, let’s balance that out with Sandra Vergara (Sofia’s younger sister) who is in Fright Night which you probably want to skip.
Here’s this year’s absolute must-read story: It’s an insider look at the mission to kill Osama bin Laden from the planning phases through to the mission. (New Yorker)
Good news for people like me who are often accused of being alcoholics: About two-thirds of people in a study say they drink to cope with stress. See, I don’t have a problem. I’m just an average guy. (Daily Telegraph)
Spoiler alert for the next season of Two And A Half Men: Chuck Lorre is a fucking idiot. Rather than prove he’s the bigger man by letting Charlie Sheen’s character drift off and hope he’d come back for a highly rated comeback episode, he’s going to kill off Sheen’s character. Chuck, the cancellation bear is coming for you! (Deadline)
After the jump, more bad coming TV series, IE users are statistically proven to be morons and exploding F1 cars. Continue reading
