It’s time for The Lowdown’s annual tradition. I’m not talking about another anniversary show but tomorrow is actually the 8th anniversary of The Lowdown (our first episode was on October 30, 2007). No, today we do our annual look at some really cool Jack-o-Lanterns to give us all some inspiration for our own. One day, one of us might actually do something cool enough to be featured here. Today, we sit back and watch.
With Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue having just been released, I thought that now was a good time for a themed edition of the Man Lab Showdown. As I’ve mentioned before on the blog, I didn’t peg Hannah Davis near the top of the list of favourites for the cover so my original plans for this Showdown didn’t come to fruition. That being said, I’m borrowing the idea from that for this edition and I’ll use another version of that idea for the next edition.
So for today’s Man Lab Showdown, it’s a battle of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girls. In one corner is the current SI Swimsuit Issue cover star and American sweetheart, Hannah Davis. In the other corner, the 2014 Swimsuit Issue cover model and Danish superstar, Nina Agdal.

It’s Halloween today. While going out in costume kinda goes out of style when you reach high school (before coming back in full force when you can legally drink in university), for celebrities, it’s a necessity for PR that they go out in costume at Halloween. I’m not sure that it’s so much a suggestion or a fun time for them as a mandate of their celebrity status.
Since it’s Halloween, let’s look at some past Halloween costumes worn by celebrities.
Halloween is just over a week away. As per usual, I still haven’t carved my pumpkin for the year yet. It’s not that I’m prone to procrastinating and leaving things to the last minute. Everyone knows how to carve a standard Jack-o-Lantern but I really don’t want to stick to the status quo pumpkin design. That’s why I once again looked up some amazing looking Jack-o-Lanterns for inspiration. Maybe you should take note when carving yours.
Tuesday is the environmental awareness day called Earth Day. It’s purpose it to increase awareness of the effects of pollution on the Earth. However, it also provides us an excuse to post a gallery of beautiful women from around the world that would also give you an incentive to save the world. It also gets us clicks which helps us keep the site viable as long as you’re not using AdBlock.
It’s been almost sixteen months since we last had a Man Lab Showdown and I’m not sure why because the Showdown is consistently your favourite post. So to mark the release of the 50th anniversary issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the return of the Showdown, I thought I’d do something special.
In one corner is the woman I said was my dark horse for this year’s cover and fastest growing star in modelling over the last year, Nina Agdal. In the other corner, a Victoria’s Secret Angel recruited to SI, Lily Aldridge. And in the third corner, a long-time Swimsuit Issue veteran who finally got her shot at the cover, Chrissy Teigen. That’s right, it’s our first ever Man Lab Showdown three-way dance to find the ultimate 50th Anniversary cover girl.
