Entertainment Link-Off: All Fired Up

This weekend at the box office, it’s horror flick Final Desination 5 facing off against action/comedy 30 Minutes or Less. Neither film is likely to beat out those apes for the first place spot though. Anyway, leading this off is one of the cast members of Final Desination 5, Emma Bell.

Worst of Music: JLS – She Makes Me Wanna

One of the hardest parts of doing the Worst of Music is finding new WoM winners when the Billboard Hot 100’s top ten is filled with past WoM winners. This week’s Billboard top ten has five past WoM winners and a few pretty good songs to fill it out (shockingly). So I took a look at the UK Singles charts and didn’t have to look far for a WoM worthy song. I’ve never heard of JLS but after listening to their new #1 single, I wish no one else had either. Entertainment Link-Off: Go Ape!

So there was a lot of doubt with regards to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but given the certified fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes right now, it might just be better than what the trailers were revealing. Kicking off this ELO is one of the stars of the film Freida Pinto.

Worst of Music: Hot Chelle Rae – Tonight Tonight

Before checking this week’s Billboard Hot 100 charts, I had never heard of the band Hot Chelle Rae. I half expected it to be a woman and almost thought the Dude Looks Like A Lady at the very start of the video was HCR. Turns out that it’s a band who have an album, an EP and three singles to their credit. One of those singles just happens to be this week’s Worst of Music winner. Entertainment Link-Off: Sci-Fi Showdown

Normally I would kick off the Entertainment Link-Off with something related to a big release this weekend, but I’ll go a different route today. Kicking off the ELO is Jessica Nigri. Her outfit as Eloa from Knightingale was definitely one of the highlights of this year’s Comic-Con.

Entertainment Link-Off: SDCC 2011 Edition

Comic-Con is happening this weekend. The reports from panels and other events at SDCC 2011 will continue to roll in, so expect updated links as we go along this weekend. Kicking things off is Mila Kunis from the Friends with Benefits premiere. Of course, if you prefer comic book flicks, Captain America: The First Avenger is in theatres this week as well. To the folks in Aussieland, it comes out next Thursday.

Worst of Music: Arctic Monkeys – Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair

For this week’s Worst of Music award, we’ve gone off the board. This week’s WoM winner isn’t on the Billboard Hot 100 or the UK’s Top 40 singles charts. It’s just a song that randomly came on BBC Radio 1. But it was so bad that it stuck in my head as a guaranteed WoM winner.
