Entertainment Link-Off: Getting Revved Up

Fast Five is out this weekend and I was initially going to kick off this entry with Jordana Brewster but since Steve beat me to the punch, I’ll kick things off with Friday Night Lights alum Aimee Teegarden. Catch her while you can in the final season of FNL on NBC at 9 pm on Fridays or perhaps head to the big screens to see her as the leading lady in Disney’s latest flick Prom.

After the jump, never use real guns when making videos, movie trailers galore and an awesome music medley to listen to. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Bring on the Thunder

It’s battle of the big blockbusters in Australia this weekend with Thor duking it out against Fast Five at the theatres. This is a somewhat unusual case of having two big movies open in the same week well ahead of their North American release dates. Meanwhile back in Canada and the US… there’s nothing all that worth looking at this weekend. I’ll just kick star this ELO with Jamie Chung because she was featured in the latest Esquire photoshoot.

After the jump, 3D porn film tops Avatar in Hong Kong, some Transformers related news, Joseph Gordon-Levitt teaches Conan how to headbang, an interested film related music video and an awesome way to propose to your girlfriend at the movies. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: What’s Your Favourite Scary Movie?

After taking last week off, I’m back with another Entertainment Link-Off. So it’s been many years in the making but Scream 4 is finally in theatres. While not exactly the best of the series, it is much better than the third film of the franchise. Plus, gotta love the excess of eye candy in this right? Kicking off this entry is Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere at the Scream 4 premiere.

After the jump, a few more Scream related tidbits, an interesting Roger Ebert TED talk, Transformers: Dark of the Moon looks somewhat promising, Yvonne Strahovski channels her inner Gaga, everybody loves Community and the first episode of Mortal Kombat Legacy! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Swing and A Miss

It’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. Starting off this entry is Kaley Cuoco. You can hear her voice work in the new critically slammed animated film Hop, but I’m sure we’ll all be better off watching Source Code in theatres instead this weekend.

After the jump, news on Transformers 3, watch the first six minutes of Sucker Punch, Katherine Heigl causes havoc in the movie industry, Tara Reid tries to show off her acting chops and a funny look at Korean dramas. Continue reading

Sunday Link-Off: Hit and Miss

Steve is off again this week to escape his hometown and enjoy some city life, so it’s Jackie here again to destroy your Sunday Link-Off. Kicking off this entry are the ladies of Sucker Punch.

After the jump, the Washington Capitals are #winning, religion is dying, sex is a risky activity, Facebook happy birthday messages translated and Chuck Bartowski is the greatest American hero. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Mind-bending Reality

It’s another loaded weekend at the box office. For those in Canada, you can enjoy the “greatest Canadian movie ever” (quoted from Steve Murray) called Hobo with a Shotgun. Meanwhile for the rest of the folks in North America, how about some eye candy galore in Sucker Punch? Ok it’s getting drubbed by critics as Zack Snyder’s first misfire, but the stylistic action and the lead actresses are worth a look. Kicking off this entry is Jamie Chung who plays Amber in the film.

After the jump more episodes of the Star Wars parody Troopers, Bryan Singer explains why Superman Returns didn’t quite click with its audience, Rebecca Black is becoming richer because of our hatred and Nick Pitera is a one-man Disney movie! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Ching Chong Ling Long Ting Tong

It’s Saturday, so it’s time for another round of the Entertainment Link-Off. It’s a decent showing at the movies this weekend as we get three films all worthy of a look. First there’s the sci-fi comedy Paul starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Then there’s Matthew McConaughey channeling his inner lawyer once again in The Lincoln Lawyer. Finally there’s the thriller on a faux wonderdrug called Limitless starring Bradley Cooper and Abbie Cornish (pictured).

After the jump, the Chinese are no longer the villains in Red Dawn, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reenact Star Wars, manchildren are in danger according to Ben Stiller, Wile E Coyote reenacts 127 Hours, Elmo gets tickled and video responses to that rant about Asians by UCLA student Alexandra Wallace. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Alien Invasion Alert!

It’s time for another entry of the Entertainment Link-Off. This week marks a battle between aliens and werewolves! While most people would be heading out to see Battle: Los Angeles or Mars Need Moms, there would be some that would be interested in another retelling of Red Riding Hood starring Amanda Seyfried.

After the jump, Pokemon is still popular, Kevin Smith is off to a decent start to his Red State tour, a sweet mashup between The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Starfox, Charlie Sheen tries his winning recipe and another noteworthy Wong Fu Productions video to check out. Continue reading

Sunday Link-Off: Not Winning

So Steve is away for the weekend, so it’s actually Jackie here writing your latest edition of the Sunday Link-Off. Since he has been nice enough to cover for my Entertainment Link-Offs while I was away, it would be nice of me to return the favour. Kicking off this entry is Vanessa Hudgens. She’s starring in the film Beastly this weekend… and from the looks of it, it’s not looking like it’ll be winning any Oscars next year.

After the jump, more Charlie Sheen moments, a flowchart to help you figure out which MLB team to root for, a new extreme form of hockey has emerged, and Canadian national anthem fail. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Use the Force

I’m back for the latest edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. There is a wide selection of films to check out this weekend including the animated film Rango starring Johnny Depp, the thriller The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt or perhaps CBS’ modern adaptation of Beauty and the Beast called Beastly. Oh almost forgot, there’s also the much delayed release of the comedy Take Me Home Tonight starring Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. If you’re not interested, you can still catch Teresa in the sci-fi actioner I Am Number Four.

After the jump, CW fail, some Oscars related tidbits that don’t necessarily involve James Franco, Charlie Sheen quotables, Darth Vader tackles a Toyota, first look at Tron Uprising and another round of movie charades for Modern Family. Continue reading
