CW Announces Primetime Schedule for 2009/2010 Season

cw

Update: Rick Porter writes a nice article on “Body Politic” – the best pilot you won’t see this fall season. (Zap2it).

Turns out, the rumoured schedule is true! While I do want to see the CW pick itself back up and bring back the glory days of the WB, I know that it will not happen, especially under the reigns of the current exec team. With a combination of rehashing old material, extending shows beyond their natural end, picking up bad pilots and poor scheduling, the CW continues to shoot itself in the foot. Oh Dawn… you’re really running the network to the ground. As the famous Les Grossman once said “A nutless monkey can do your job!”

Hockey (Last) Night In Canada: Melting Down The Igloo

All the talk coming into game two of the Eastern Conference finals was about the Hurricanes. In each of the past two rounds, the Cardiac Canes lost game one before taking game two en route to a seven game series win. Did Carolina have enough to even the series before heading home or did Pittsburgh make a Stanley Cup Finals rematch all but inevitable? Continue reading

Which Team Should Adopt Michael Vick?

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that former NFL star and admitted dog abuser Michael Vick has been released from prison and is now under house arrest. Upon his release talk immediately turned to what Vick would do next. Would NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstate Vick and allow him to play this season? Would any team have anything to do with a player with as much “baggage” as Vick? Well, I’d like to have a little fun with this whole story and speculate where the man otherwise known as Ron Mexico might end up complete with low-grade photoshop work. Continue reading

Rumoured CW Fall Schedule

While the official announcement will come tomorrow, the rumoured schedule is presented after jump. Looks like my prediction is sorta off eh? If this is any indication of what the network is airing next well, let’s just say the CW is definitely going down the crapper. Continue reading

CBS Announces Primetime Schedule for 2009/2010 Season

jennifer love hewitt 4Normally I could care less about CBS’ primetime schedule. I haven’t tuned into the network regularly since Jericho’s demise. I recently started catching a few episodes of “The Big Bang Theory” (which has been renewed for 2 seasons), “How I Met Your Mother” and “Harper’s Island”. Notice that none of these are part of their famous line-up of bland “procedural dramas”. Headlining this article is Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of Ghost Whisperer. No, I do not watch that show. I just have a picture of her here because she’s hot and she’s associated with the network. That’s it.

This year (like any other year), there are two words that sum up CBS’ latest primetime lineup: more procedurals. Continue reading

NBC Announces Primetime Schedule for 2009/2010 Season

nbc-shows-09-10You’ve already heard about the batch of new shows when NBC decided to announce part of its schedule earlier in the month. Now the full schedule is available for you to check out! Continue reading

Breaking News: WWE Raw Going to L.A.

As reported by CNBC’s Darren Rovell, WWE’s Monday Night Raw will go live next Monday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Rovell says that no money changed hands but I would find that hard to believe because Denver wrestling fans have been jilted and the WWE has to sell tickets for the show. The WWE had also entertained an offer from Madison Square Garden in New York. Continue reading

Vince McMahon’s Greatest Feuds

I’m sure you’ve heard by now about the brouhaha that’s developed between Vince McMahon and Stan Kroenke. Of course, Vinny Mac is no stranger to controversy and he is never willing to back down from a fight. As a result, he’s been involved in a number of great on- and off-screen feuds. Continue reading

Wednesday Link-Off: Stimulus Package

olivia-wilde-3Headlining this post is Olivia Wilde who was just named the hottest woman in the world in the Maxim Hot 100. I guess we were wrong when we said that Megan Fox (#2) would take home the top spot. After the jump, I had planned on showing the new Celebrity Jeopardy skit from SNL but NBC is evil. Instead, we have Vince McMahon mocking the NFL and NBA.

Pfizer has come up with their own… Well, let’s call it their unique take on a stimulus package: Free Viagra for the unemployed. (Toronto Star)

Ever watch one of those strong man competitions where guys dead lift 700 lbs., pull firetrucks, and hold to cars in place that are trying to tear them apart? Well, a lot of time, effort, and especially money are put in by the competitors to get to the world championships. (CNBC)

Something that one could never live down: A NSF-High School pic in the yearbook. (WTSP)

British TV personality James May invaded the Chelsea Flower Show… with a plasticine garden. (Daily Telegraph) And don’t forget the accompanying slideshow. Although it didn’t win any of the best in show awards, May’s garden did get a special plasticine gold medal award for his efforts.

Some fathers reach a little when they pick out a birthday present for their teenage son. For example, a Polish immigrant in England tried to get his kid a hooker. (NY Daily News)

A man rolls up the rim to a prank gone horribly wrong. He wasn’t the target but he was the victim. Not that he should worry. Nobody wants a Venza anyway. (CBC)

What do you do when you lose $15 million at casinos in Vegas? Claim that you were drugged so you shouldn’t have to pay off your debts. (Las Vegas Sun)

Good news: The World Series will have all first pitches thrown before 8:00 this year. Bad news: It’s still baseball which means that from pre-game to final out, the game will take at least five hours for a nine inning game. (USA Today)

We mentioned the CIS All-Star gamea week-and-a-half ago. Here’s a look ahead to the 2010 CFL Draft that those all-stars were aiming for. (TSN)

The New York Times is planning on charging for some of its web content. No better way to beat the recession than to scare people away from their website. After all, why pay for content from the NYT when you can get it free on Google. (New York Observer)

A while ago, I mentioned you can track every athlete on Twitter. Now you can follow every sports blog on Twitter. (Sports Blog Tweets) Except, you can’t follow me on there. Not a big deal because you can find me @TheSteveMurray. Continue reading

Hockey (Last) Night In Canada: Motoring Into Chicago

After a hard fought game one, both teams came out hard in game two. The Blackhawks were looking to go back to Chicago with a split from the first two games in Detroit. The Red Wings were looking to end the series before it really got going. Continue reading
