CIS Morning Warmup: National Semi-Finals

In honour of this week’s Vanier Cup semi-final games, we’ve retired the OUA Morning Warmup and replaced it with the CIS Morning Warmup. The coverage is the same but the name has been changed to protect the writer from accusations of OUA bias. Today, we have a double-header of national semi-final games as we’ve reached the final four in Canadian university football. The OUA champion Western Mustangs will travel to Quebec City to battle the undefeated and national #1 Laval Rouge et Or in the Uteck Bowl. This year’s award winners after the jump. Continue reading

Today, the OUA announced this year’s first and second team all-stars. Each of the nine coaches of active OUA teams cast a vote for the all-star teams. Not surprisingly, the two Yates Cup Final teams, Ottawa and Western, were the two most represented teams on the First All-Star Team. Western also topped the overall all-star count. After the jump, we have the all-star lists and count up the players from each team. Continue reading
