So to start our look at the 2012 F1 season, we look at the 12 teams that will be in the field and the 24 drivers piloting the cars. Continue reading

Calgary Flames’ Twitter Account Doesn’t Think Much Of Hemsky

The Calgary Flames official twitter account (@NHLFlames) thinks 2 years at $5 million per season for Ales Hemsky is a bit too big a contract.

Steve’s Ridiculous 2012 NHL Trade Deadline Predictions

Every year, I like to play the unique role of outside insider slash prognosticator slash comedian with my annual ridiculous predictions series of posts. This time out, I’m making my ridiculous predictions for the NHL Trade Deadline. After all, when experts and reporters talk about deals at the trade deadline, they always think that teams will make deals that make sense for all involved. In reality, the NHL doesn’t work that way. Players have no-trade clauses in their contracts and some GMs have no sense whatsoever. So let’s take a fun look at this year’s NHL trade deadline. Continue reading

WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Review

Between the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 28, there is one very critical stop on the Road To WrestleMania. The annual Elimination Chamber pay-per-view determines the two world title holders heading into WrestleMania and helps sets the stage for the greatest spectacle in wrestling. After a lacklustre event in January at the Royal Rumble, could the WWE liven things up en route to the biggest show of the year? Continue reading

Formula One: 2012 Jerez Test Recap

It seems like only yesterday that the 2011 Formula One World Championship ended at the Brazilian Grand Prix. Really, it almost was yesterday as we’re less than two-and-a-half months removed from the last race of 2011. However, the rules changes banning exhaust-blown diffusers and lowering nose heights has drastically changed the look of F1 to the point where you feel as though you’re years rather than months removed from last season.

Before the 2012 Formula One World Championship can start, we have to shakedown the new cars. That brought the driver and teams of Formula One to the Jerez circuit for the first of three pre-season tests of the year. Continue reading

SI Swimsuit 2012 Cover Odds

One of the great perks that comes with a Sports Illustrated subscription is getting the mid-winter classic known as the SI Swimsuit Issue. Last summer, models were secretly whisked off to tropical locales all over the world and photographed in complete secrecy… Well, at least when Twitter and Facebook didn’t give us sneak peaks of what to expect. Anyway, shrouded in even more secrecy is the identity of the magazine’s cover model. Being the SI Swimsuit cover model is probably the highest honour that can be bestowed on a model. It comes with instant celebrity, international recognition, a blogosphere presence for life and a blown-up copy of your cover on the Wall of Morale in the Dan Patrick Show man cave.

So who are we tipping to be on the cover of the 49th edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue? Find out after the jump. Continue reading
