Entertainment Link-Off: Use the Force

I’m back for the latest edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. There is a wide selection of films to check out this weekend including the animated film Rango starring Johnny Depp, the thriller The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt or perhaps CBS’ modern adaptation of Beauty and the Beast called Beastly. Oh almost forgot, there’s also the much delayed release of the comedy Take Me Home Tonight starring Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. If you’re not interested, you can still catch Teresa in the sci-fi actioner I Am Number Four.

After the jump, CW fail, some Oscars related tidbits that don’t necessarily involve James Franco, Charlie Sheen quotables, Darth Vader tackles a Toyota, first look at Tron Uprising and another round of movie charades for Modern Family. Continue reading

Charlie Sheen Interviewed On Piers Morgan Tonight

Let’s wrap up our day of winning on The Lowdown Blog with one more feature-length Charlie Sheen interview. This morning, we had Charlie’s interview with Howard Stern. The night before that, he had his first live interview on TV with Piers Morgan. It’s quite a bit more serious than the Stern interview that covers Two and a Half Men, drugs, Charlie’s party lifestyle, his potential status as a role model and more.

After the jump, we have the full 48-minute interview. Continue reading

Charlie Sheen Interviewed On The Howard Stern Show

Charlie Sheen has been making the rounds as of late. He’s been on The Dan Patrick Show, The Today Show, 20/20 and Piers Morgan Tonight. But his best interview, by far, was Tuesday’s interview on The Howard Stern Show. They talked about Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre, sex, Charlie’s women, porn stars, his family and winning.

After the jump, we have the full 45-minute interview. Continue reading

WWE Elimination Chamber 2011 Review

The Road to WrestleMania 27 has one pay-per-view stop between the Royal Rumble and the Granddaddy of them all. At WWE Elimination Chamber, both world titles are on the line and the final WrestleMania title shot would be decided. WrestleMania dreams would be fulfilled for some and shattered for others. So who’s going to the biggest stage in wrestling and how did they look getting there? Find out after the jump. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Justin Bieber – Never Say Never

What happens when you mix Justin Bieber with a hip-hop beat, autotune, uninspired lyrics written for a kids movie soundtrack and a 12-year-old kid as a featuring artist? You get this week’s Worst of Music. If the remake of Karate Kid wasn’t bad enough, Justin Bieber’s theme song for that movie was the icing on the remake cake. Anyway, let’s get the pain over with. It’s Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: The Envelope Please

Since she’s one half of the Academy Awards hosting team, here’s Anne Hathaway.

The Oscars are this weekend. Obviously, Ricky Gervais won’t be allowed there. That hasn’t stopped him from writing a slip for the opening monologue for the show. (RickyGervais.com)

In fact, not only will Gervais not be at the Oscars, he won’t even be watching the show. (Hollywood Reporter)

And speaking of people not allowed at the Oscars, I’m going to guess Charlie Sheen won’t be allowed there. Hell, he’s not even allowed on CBS after the network shut down Two and a Half Men for the season. (HitFix)

After the jump, the latest details on some movies in development, the worst actors in Hollywood and leaked Two and a Half Men footage. Continue reading

Early SI Swimsuit Issue 2012 Cover Odds

I’m sure most guys will agree that it’s never a bad time to talk about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. We’re about a year away from the next edition of the Swimsuit Issue, the 48th edition according to our friends at Swimsuitologist, but that doesn’t mean guys aren’t already talking about it. We may not actually know who will be in the next Swimsuit Issue but that doesn’t mean we can’t speculate about who will be on the cover. So who are we tipping to be on the cover of the 2012 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue? Find out after the jump. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Glee – Gold Digger

It might seem hypocritical of me to say this because I’ve noted many times that I hate hip hop music, but I love rap. I’m not a huge Kanye fan but I like his breakout hit song Gold Digger. Like most songs, cover versions don’t come close to matching the quality of the original. However, one particular cover reaches levels of suckage so high that it deserves special mention here. It’s the Gold Digger cover performed by the cast of Glee. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: One Sheen-ing Moment

I’m back in the saddle again for another set of entertainment links. To make up for it, I was going to go with Brooklyn Decker from Just Go With It but I refuse to support the Sandler/Aniston machine (despite the cameo by Dan Patrick). So here’s I Am Number Four’s Teresa Palmer.

The biggest entertainment news of the week came from a sports talk radio show. Dan Patrick scored the interview coup of the year with his interviews with Charlie Sheen. (Sports Radio Interviews)

Here’s the story of how DP landed the interview with Sheen and how he ended up in seven Sandler movies. (The Wrap)

So Watson kicked the asses of mankind’s best on Jeopardy much to the surprise of no one. But you can do battle with Watson (or at lease his algorithms) in this online game. (New York Times)

After the jump, the new Wonder Woman, the NBA all-star weekend and James Earl Jones catches Bieber fever. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On

For this week’s WoM, I thought that we should go with a timeless classic love song. And by timeless classic, I mean a song that would make the all-time list of bad songs. Before Avatar came out a couple years ago, Titanic was the highest grossing movie of all-time. Its theme song was Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. Lots of women like it but those are mostly those who like easy listening music/ The rest of world, and especially Canada, hates this song with a passion. Therefore, it’s only appropriate that this is our Valentine’s Day worst of music. Continue reading
