Worst of Music: will.i.am and Britney Spears – Scream & Shout

When I heard that will.i.am and Britney were collaborating on a song, I knew that it was likely to win a Worst of Music award. Being a fair person, I thought that it would only be fair to actually listen to it. Unfortunately, my willingness to listen to it meant I gave them far too much credit in their ability to make a good song. So this week’s WoM winner is will.i.am and Britney Spears’ Scream and Shout. Entertainment Link-Off: Op-Ed

berenice-marlohe-omega12-07Once again, I draw in for Jackie for the entertainment links. Unfortunately, this weekend is a complete wasteland. Nothing noteworthy is opening this weekend. Okay, there’s that Killing Them Softly movie starring Brad Pitt which critics like and movie goers are lukewarm on. Since I don’t think she’s been featured in a set of the entertainment links, here’s Bond girl Berenice Marlohe. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Behind The Scenes

With Jackie on assignment these next two weeks (I’ve always wanted to say that), I’m your pop culture guru for the next two editions of the Entertainment Link-Off. It’s hard enough finding links for one linkdump when the interweb is basically shut down for American Thanksgiving. I had to fill two linkdumps on about 48 hours notice but I think you’ll be happy.

Anyway, there are three big wide releases this weekend (well, by this weekend I mean on Wednesday). There is the heavily hyped Life of Pi which is the best reviewed movie of the weekend but still looks like a low rent version of Castaway. Alternatively, you could watch the star-studded animated Rise of the Guardians. Or if you want to rot your brain, you can go see Red Dawn. Rather than promote those movies, here’s former Chuck, now Dexter star Yvonne Strahovski. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Nicole Westbrook – It’s Thanksgiving

I’m sure that you all remember Rebecca Black of the YouTube sensation Friday. Well, the heartless and soulless producer of Friday is back with a new viral song for our listening pleasure. Wait, did I say pleasure? This new song might actually be worse than Friday. The writer of Friday is back under the PMW Live label with a song by Nicole Westbrook called It’s Thanksgiving. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Bite the Dust

At the movies this weekend, there will be no competition for those sparkling vampires in Twilight. Just go watch Skyfall instead if you haven’t had the chance ya? That being said, there is still eye candy to be seen in the vamp flicks, so let’s start this off with Ashley Greene shall we?

After the jump, a few trailers to check out, Transformers actually moving to China this time (maybe), Tarantino setting a retirement point, GRR takes on JRR, learn how to make Chef’s Chocolate Salty Balls and watch TBBT do Call Me Maybe. Continue reading

Fifty Years of James Bond: The Movie

An intrepid James Bond fan has put together a pretty cool mash-up/compilation of the last 50 years of Eon Productions’ James Bond movies. He’s created a two-hour long video with five-minute long segments from each movie put together in sequence of when the movie was released.

The video’s description says:

Approximately five minutes from each of the 22 Eon produced James Bond films have been cut together, in order and in sequence, beginning with the first five minutes of DR. NO (1962) followed by minutes 5-10 of FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE (1963), minutes 10-15 of GOLDFINGER (1964), minutes 15-20 of THUNDERBALL (1965), continuing on through each of the remaining 18 Bond features (accounting for variables in each title’s running time) culminating with the final five minutes of 2008’s QUANTUM OF SOLACE.

Entertainment Link-Off: Dream A Little

It’s time for another edition of the ELO. Let’s kick it off with Amanda Seyfried in her latest shoot with Vanity Fair. You can catch her next in the film adaptation of Les Miserables in December.

After the jump, Kevin Smith tells Disney not to screw up Star Wars, Transformers 4 has a new lead, some zombie film related material and Wikipedia can possibly predict box office success. Continue reading

The History of 007 (Infographic)

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but we’re big fans of James Bond around here. Maybe it was our definitive list of Bond themes or Bond girl themed Man Lab Showdown or the detailed Bond girl infographic. Today, we have one last Bond post for today’s premiere of Skyfall. It’s a timeline and history of James Bond movies, cars, guns, actors and box office numbers for the last fifty years. Continue reading

James Bond’s Love Life (Infographic)

James Bond’s daily routine is much better than yours. He gets cool gadgets from Q, saves the world from villains hell-bent on world domination and gets the girl. If you’re not Daniel Craig, it’s actually “gets the girls.” Over the last 50 years and 22 movies, Bond has slept with 53 women about 75 times.

With Skyfall premiering Friday in North America, now is a good time to check out this infographic about the famous Bond girls. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Sucker Punch

This weekend at the box office, there’s the fun animated video game inspired film Wreck It Ralph. There’s also Denzel as the pilot that saved the day in Flight. Finally, there’s the stylistic actioner The Man with the Iron Fists featuring Jamie Chung. Let’s just start this off with her shall we?

After the jump Star Wars is now part of Disney, someone is stealing the minions, more Twilight for us all (we’re doomed) and Mitt Romney will cause the zombie apocalypse. Continue reading
