Comic-Con 2010: Friday Roundup

The big day in Comic-Con is Saturday, but that never stopped people from doing more promo work on Friday. Several panels involved upcoming films like Skyline, Drive Angry 3D, Super, The Green Hornet and The Other Guys. There’s also a look at the highly anticipated zombie series The Walking Dead. Comic-Con 2010: Thursday Roundup

Comic-Con 2010 is here. The first day kicked off with plenty of excitement. Of course Joss Whedon and J.J. Abrams were at hand to discuss about their projects (and Whedon officially confirms that he is directing The Avengers). Plenty of awesome panels took place including Tron Legacy, Battle: Los Angeles and The Expendables. Also, what would Comic-Con be without the epic of epic epicness Scott Pilgrim vs. the World? Entertainment Link-Off: It Was All A Dream

Inception is finally out this weekend! I’m sure there are plenty of folks intrigued by the trailers and all the buzz surrounding the film, but if you’re still not interested, here are two reasons why you should go: Ellen Page and Marion Cotillard.

After the jump, a few more Inception related links, Tron Legacy gets the Pixar touch, several first looks at upcoming films, Shaq takes on Justin Bieber, Steve Carrell makes a big decision and the return of McFly!!! Continue reading

Movie Review: Predators

Since its introduction in 1987, Predator has become a great pop-culture flick for sci-fi action. Thanks to its box office success, it has spawned a 1990 sequel starring Danny Glover and set in L.A. which was a dud. With the film franchise seemingly dead,  two “crossover” Alien vs. Predator flicks were released to boost interest but they just made things worse. Predators is indeed better than Predator 2 and the two AVPs; however since those films set the bar pretty low, that’s not saying much. Is this movie finally worth the price of an admission ticket? Find out after the jump. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: The Hunt Continues

The highly anticipated action/horror film Predators is finally out this weekend! Since the film only has one female star, let’s put some additional attention on her. Kicking off this week’s ELO is Alice Braga!

After the jump, more Predators related links, some awesome Tron Legacy tribute videos, Christopher Nolan wants to reboot Bond, a love song for cancelled TV shows and a special version of Twilight just for guys. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: On Earth, Everyone Can Hear You Scream

This would probably be a good weekend to avoid the theatres as they are packed with fangirls (and maybe some fanboys). While they’re in the theatres screaming at high pitches everytime a sparkling vampire or shirtless werewolf appears on the screen, the rest of us can just sit back and catch some World Cup action! Now the Twilight saga isn’t known for its ‘quality’ story, but thank goodness the movie does have some eye candy. Kicking off this entry is Ashley Greene.

After the jump, Scream 4 may have hit a fork in the road, some anticipation build-up for Predators, an awesome District 9 parody, some more vampire related stuff and Scott Pilgrim in German! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Feeling Blue

So I was off last week thanks to my wonderful busy schedule but I’m back! Let’s kick off the last weekend of June with The Saturdays! They got a brand new music video and you can take a look at that later on in this post.

After the jump, two movie trailers to look at, a few tidbits on the next Harold and Kumar film, some Inception stuff to blow your mind, new TV show alert, Disney + porn = social problems, nifty TV opening credits and the iPhone 4 has some nifty features. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Get Over Here!

Let’s do the time warp again! With a pair of 80s reboots, Hollywood has certainly hit its stride in creativity this weekend at the box office. While all the kids are lining up for The Karate Kid remake (which is suprisingly borderline fresh), the rest of us will take a look at The A-Team (which is borderline rotten). If the film has Jessica Biel in it, then it’s probably worth checking out. How bad could it be?

After the jump Darth Vader has mental health problems, Russell Brand has an interesting choice of films, The CW is desperate for attention, some Transformers stuff, Jeremy Roenick is a class act and some Mortal Kombat stuff to please most fanboys out there. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Byrne-ing Up the Big Screen

It’s amazing how time flies. We’ve hit the first weekend of June! That means we’re smack in the middle of the summer blockbuster season and this weekend’s big feature is the Forgetting Sarah Marshall spinoff Get Him to the Greek. Rose Byrne is among the cast of the film, so let’s kick this off with her latest shoot with GQ.

After the jump some Marvel concept arts, new trailer and TV spot for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Scarlett Johansson screwed over Esquire, Andy Richter shot Jon Stewart, a look into auditioning for Transformers 3 and Kristen Bell took part in the lost masterpiece of pornography. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Blockbuster Weekend

It’s clash of the big tentpole films this weekend as Sex and the City 2 faces off against the previous champ Shrek Forever After and Disney’s latest Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Kicking off this Entertainment Link-Off is Gemma Arterton who plays Tamina in Prince of Persia. The video game adaptation is getting mixed reviews but it’s apparently one of the better ones out there.

After the jump Les Grossman returns, learn you ABC’s with Wolverine and Lost finale aftermath. Continue reading
