With Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue having just been released, I thought that now was a good time for a themed edition of the Man Lab Showdown. As I’ve mentioned before on the blog, I didn’t peg Hannah Davis near the top of the list of favourites for the cover so my original plans for this Showdown didn’t come to fruition. That being said, I’m borrowing the idea from that for this edition and I’ll use another version of that idea for the next edition.
So for today’s Man Lab Showdown, it’s a battle of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girls. In one corner is the current SI Swimsuit Issue cover star and American sweetheart, Hannah Davis. In the other corner, the 2014 Swimsuit Issue cover model and Danish superstar, Nina Agdal.

It’s been almost sixteen months since we last had a Man Lab Showdown and I’m not sure why because the Showdown is consistently your favourite post. So to mark the release of the 50th anniversary issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and the return of the Showdown, I thought I’d do something special.
In one corner is the woman I said was my dark horse for this year’s cover and fastest growing star in modelling over the last year, Nina Agdal. In the other corner, a Victoria’s Secret Angel recruited to SI, Lily Aldridge. And in the third corner, a long-time Swimsuit Issue veteran who finally got her shot at the cover, Chrissy Teigen. That’s right, it’s our first ever Man Lab Showdown three-way dance to find the ultimate 50th Anniversary cover girl.

In honour of this week’s release of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, we have an epic edition of the Man Lab Showdown for you. In one corner is 2010 SI Swimsuit cover model Brooklyn Decker who is such a big name in the modelling world that she’s parlayed it into an acting career. In the other corner is 2012 SI Swimsuit cover girl Kate Upton who has taken the world by storm over the last twelve months.

Maybe Julie Henderson will be my valentine. I doubt it though.
The opening ceremonies of the Vancouver Olympics was quite the sight. Especially the look on Nash and Gretzky’s faces when they realized something had gone horribly wrong. (Gawker TV)
Of course, the Olympics aren’t all fun and games. Protesters bitching about everything are wreaking havoc on Vancouver. (Boston Globe)
And don’t have your Olympic tickets yet? Well VANOC has setup their own version of StubHub to rip you off with service fees help you find tickets to the events you want to go to. (CNBC)
After the jump, Vince’s latest crazy plan, something else, and the SI Swimsuit cover curse. Continue reading
