Worst of Music: Madonna – Give Me All Your Luvin’

Over the last 72 or so hours, Madonna has played the Super Bowl halftime show and released a new single. It’s only appropriate that I give her latest comeback the recognition it deserves. That’s why the winner of this week’s Worst of Music award is Madonna with her new single Give Me All Your Luvin’. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Tyga – Rack City

As seems to be the case fairly often in the feature, I hadn’t heard of Tyga until selecting this week’s Worst of Music winner. But his ascension into the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 got my attention. Unfortunately for me, I listened to his song and it wasn’t more than five seconds before it was the week’s top contender and fifteen seconds before it cemented itself as an early front-runner for 2012’s worst of music with his song Rack City. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Keshia Chante – Table Dancing

This week’s Worst of Music doesn’t come from the usual suspects on the Billboard Hot 100. Instead, it comes courtesy the producers of Canada’s New Year’s Eve show from Niagara Falls. The first act of the night was R&B turned dance singer Keshia Chante. Good Canadian artist seldom have any trouble getting a break in the US market. However, there’s a reason that Keshia hasn’t gotten into the US and that’s evidenced by her most recent hit song Table Dancer. Continue reading

Worst of Music 2011: Pitbull – Give Me Everything

Another year has come and gone. That means it’s time to name the worst song of 2011. There were a lot of worthy contenders. Rebecca Black looked like a strong contender with Friday. B.o.B’s Strange Clouds made a late year charge for the 2011 WoM. Frequent airplay of Maroon 5’s abomination Moves Like Jagger kept it right in the hunt all year. But in the end, there could be only one winner. The worst song of 2011 is Pitbull’s Give Me Everything. Continue reading

Worst of Music Retrospective: DJ Earworm – United State of Pop 2011: World Go Boom

It’s that time of year again. DJ Earworm has mashed up the year’s top 25 songs into a mega-mix mashup for the United State of Pop 2011. This year’s is a pretty accurate representation of the year in music. It has a fast tempo, a driving beat, the lyrics are indecipherable and it’s generally painful to listen to. That’s not a shining endorsement of the song but it does sum up 2011 in music perfectly. Of the 25 songs the DJ Earworm uses, 15 are winners of the Worst of Music award. Continue reading

Worst of Music Retrospective: DJ McFLY – 2011: The Aftermash

Since we’re close to the end of the year, new song releases are thinning out. So I thought this would be a good time to post another year-end song mashup as a retrospective for the year that was in bad music. DJ McFLY did his own DJ Earworm style mashup of the top songs of the year according to the Billboard Hot 100 for 2011. He mashed-up 30 songs (and one remix) into his 2011: The Aftermash. Of those 30 songs, 19 of them were named the Worst of Music. Hit the jump for the song and a list of what’s mashed-up into it. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Spike Jones – All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth

We might think that Christmas is a great time to turn on the radio and listen to some music. After all, the standard top 40 fare has to split airtime with Christmas music. Normally, anything that reduces the airtime that’s given to the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, David Guetta and Pitbull would be a good thing. However, not all Christmas music is worth listening too. And that includes this classic song that wins a Christmas Worst of Music. It’s the Spike Jones Christmas classic All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Mashup-Germany’s Top Of The Pops 2011 Mashup

With all due respect to the folks at Mashup-Germany, their mashup of the top songs of 2011 is tailor-made for our weekly Worst of Music post. It’s not really of their doing, though. They did the best they could with the source material. And that source material included ten previous Worst of Music award winners. Hit the jump for the first of many year-end song mashups. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Britney Spears – Gasoline

I don’t understand why musicians have to release half of their latest albums as singles especially if nobody really cares after the second or third one. And yet, here we are talking about the fifth single from the latest Britney Spears comeback album. With Rihanna’s rise to fame based on sex appeal, Britney is going back to that well with the entendre -laden song Gasoline. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Justin Bieber – Mistletoe

What happens when someone tries to create their own brand-new Christmas classic? An absolute disaster. Almost nothing comes out worse than an artist trying to make a quick buck with a Christmas album and those efforts get exponentially worse when releasing a brand new Christmas song. No one has been immune from this for at least the last 20 years. That includes Justin Bieber’s new song Mistletoe. Continue reading
