Since we did our look back at 2015 earlier this week, it only makes sense to look forward this week. It’s only logical to follow-up on our list of our favourite games of 2015 with a look at the games that we’re most excited about in 2016 with the Most Anticipated Games of 2016.
et geekera’s Fifteen Favourite Games of 2015
How about one last blog post before we close down for the Christmas break? At this time of year (okay, often sooner for everyone else), everyone does their year-end lists. As is tradition for etg, we close the year with our favourite games of the year. I think this year will be the last time we do the 15 for 15 thing because it was very hard getting to 15 games. Next year will probably be a top ten or something.
For now, here is our list of our fifteen favourite games of 2015. They may not be the best games of 2015 but they are the ones that I loved the most.
My Most Anticipated Games of 2015
Since we did our look back at 2014 last week, it only makes sense to use a video games post exactly one week later to look forward. It’s only logical to follow-up on our list of our favourite games of 2014 with a look at the games that we’re most excited about in 2015 with the Most Anticipated Games of 2015.
My Fourteen Favourite Games of 2014
It’s that time of year again. A little later than I intended to completed it, it’s time to look back on the year of gaming that was in 2014 with the annual list of my favourite games of the past twelve months. They may not be the best games of 2014 but they are the ones that I loved the most.
My Most Anticipated Games of 2014
I suppose that it would only make sense to start 2014 the same way that we ended 2013: With more lists. To follow up on my recent Best of 2013 post, I thought that it would only be appropriate to look ahead at the upcoming twelve months with my most anticipated games of 2014.
My Thirteen Favourite Games of 2013
While everyone was looking ahead with (justified) excitement to the launch of Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation consoles, they might have missed out on an absolutely fantastic year in gaming. While nothing world-changing has come out on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 so far, their predecessors had a fantastic year with some amazing games released over the last twelve months.
Since the end of the year is upon us, I think it’s only appropriate that I get in on the listing action and give you my list of my favourite games of 2013. They may not be the best games of 2013 but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t love playing them.
My Most Anticipated Games of 2013
Since it’s the start of 2013 and I’m done with my own 2012 lists, I thought it would be fun to look ahead to 2013. While I know that I’ve started a geek culture blog, I thought that this would make a fun extension to my favourite games of 2012 list. As good as 2012 was for gamers, I’m liking how 2013 is stacking up already. There are some good-looking games already confirmed for 2013 release that will be Day One purchases.
So, in no particular order, here are my ten most anticipated games of 2013. Continue reading
My Twelve Favourite Video Games of 2012
Since we’re doing lists of our favourite things of 2012, I thought I would cover video games. This was an odd year in gaming. New triple-A IPs were few and far between. Sequels were the name of the game this year as developers and publishers bided their time until the launch of the next generation of XBox and Playstation. However, thanks to Kickstarter, indie game bundles and digital distribution on multiple platforms, I think 2012 started to usher in more emphasis on high-quality independently developed games.
So in no particular order, here are my favourite games of 2012. Continue reading
The Top Ten James Bond Theme Songs (Updated For Skyfall)
Some three years ago, I put together a list of the ten best James Bond movie theme songs. With the release of Skyfall next week and a very good theme song by Adele, people have been talking about what the best Bond themes are and where Skyfall would land on that list. So here’s our officially unofficial list of the best Bond themes of all-time. Continue reading
The Ten Worst National Anthem Performances In Sports History
I’ve never exactly been sure why but the national anthem of the respective participating nations are traditionally played before major games. Often, these performances are very good and pass by without a batted eyelash. Then, there are those performances that make you wish you were deaf.
In honour of yesterday’s abomination of a performance of the Star Spangled Banner by Steven Tyler, here’s our list of the ten worst national anthem performances at a sporting event of all-time. Continue reading
