Sunday Link-Off: Laying The Smackdown

Surprisingly, Jackie didn’t lead off his ELO with a picture of a starlet from one of this weekend’s new movies. So I’ll cover that for him with Columbiana star Zoe Saldana.

If you thought The Wrestler was a fictional movie, the old and broke wrestler struggling to make ends meet is more common than you’d think. Those ranks include the legendary Nature Boy Ric Flair. (Grantland)

What happens when a Deadspin writer gets invited to ESPN’s state of the union address? Nothing good for Mr. Craggs. (Deadspin)

Speaking of the mothership, ESPN courted controversy by running an article wondering how things would be different if Michael Vick was white. In response, BSO wondered what Tom Brady would be like if he was black. (Black Sports Online)

After the jump, The Rock is ready to lay the smacketh down on NBC, food photo galleries and what happens to WWE Raw comes to Canada. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Masta Pasta

It’s been three months since we’ve seen an episode of Epic Meal Time so epic that we felt compelled to post it. This week’s episode of EMT is Italian food just the way my grandmother used to make it. There’s way too much there and she kept piling food onto our empty plates while we tried to get her to stop. But unlike the EMT crew, she didn’t use bacon, Jack Daniels, Chef Boyardee and more for an absolutely epic Italian pasta feast. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Meat Building 101

When a fan wrote in for advice on making his own epic meal, Epic Meal Time didn’t just send him a recipe or some advice. They sent the whole crew. On this week’s episode of EMT, the crew teams with students from Queen’s University to recreate a campus landmark with meat, ham and bacon. I never thought I’d say this but Queen’s did the damn thing this time. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Maximum Protein Experience

The team at Epic Meal Time are back this week with a new meal of epicness. This time, they bring us to their gym where they protein up after their workout. But they don’t make your standard protein bars and protein shakes. They make big-ass protein bars and protein shakes with bacon. They don’t *squawk* around when it comes to their protein. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Fast Food Sushi

The gang at Epic Meal Time took a week off so we’re running a classic EMT episode that we haven’t put on the blog before. In this edition of Epic Meal Time, the crew takes the best items from the menus at McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Wendy’s, wraps them in bacon and makes fast food sushi. If only all fast food items could come as sushi. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Chocolate and Hearts

This week, the crew at Epic Meal Time did a special Valentine’s Day episode which was all heart. Well, not all heart. In addition to chicken and lamb hearts, there was chocolate (and bacon). I don’t eat heart so I can’t say I’m a fan of this week’s episode but it’s only appropriate that you cook heart for Valentine’s Day. Continue reading

Late Night Link-Off: Cooking

For the second edition of the late-night links, let’s open with Irina Shayk. There’s actually a funny story about this photo…

It turns out that she’s suing GQ Spain over her December photo shoot being photoshopped. Now, it would normally be standard practice for that to happen but she wasn’t too happy that her clothes disappeared. (Huffington Post)

After the jump, the hottest women on cooking TV, Christmas gift tip and Irina Shayk in bodypaint (without photoshop). Continue reading

For Thanksgiving Dinner: The TurBaconEpic

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for our American friends. Usually, Thanksgiving dinner involves a turkey and football. More recently the Turducken has become increasingly popular at the dinner table. But now, some lunatics with a very good health insurance plan have created the ultimate in Thanksgiving meals. It’s 72,186 calories and 6,451 grams of fat of a bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a bird in a pig known as the TurBaconEpic. Continue reading
