So forty-some weeks of waiting have come to an end. Game of Thrones came back this week to near unprecedented hype for an HBO series. Maybe True Detective will top it but that’ll be hard to see. More so than carrying on with an epic fourth season, the fifth season premiere was tasked with living up to the hype. Fortunately, it more than lived up to what we hoped. In fact, you could call it a force to be reckoned with.

F1 Power Rankings: Bahrain Grand Prix
It’s time for the first back-to-back Grands Prix of the season as the teams make the trip from Shanghai to Bahrain for the Bahrain Grand Prix. It’s interesting to see that the opinion is mixed heading into this race. Despite this being a night race, many expect the heat and tarmac to have a big effect on tyre degradation. That would seemingly play into the hands of Ferrari but who would count out the Silver Arrows.
Wednesday Link-Off: Not the Onion
I know that there are some people and even major news agencies who get tricked by satirical news agencies like The Onion but with some of the news stories that come out are so out there that you can understand how these satirical stories can be mistaken for real. F1 Chinese Grand Prix: The Song Remains the Same
The old adage is two’s company and three’s a crowd. I’m wondering if the podium is getting a little crowded for Mercedes’ liking. Sure, the Mercedes team came through with another 1-2 finish with Lewis Hamilton again winning the race. However, Sebastian Vettel came home third for his third-straight podium with Ferrari.
Normally, that would be the most tidbit of info to titillate the Formula One press but there was so much fun to be had this weekend in Shanghai.
Sunday Link-Off: You Link or You Die
Okay, today’s linkdump is a little late because I had a busy day yesterday. I had no idea that curling once a year was that hard on your quads. I do DDP Yoga and do a lot of squats and leg exercises with that but it doesn’t help me much today. So I’m not sure if we’re lucky that the post is late or if it’s up at all since movement is exceptionally difficult.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Review: The Mummy Returns
As I finished up writing this review, I had to change the posting date of it. It read February 25th, 2015. I’ve had this review waiting to be written for a month-and-a-half. It’s hard to motivate yourself to write a review for a game that does so little to motivate you to play it. Basically, this game is the game that nearly ended et geekera. I had to overcome the challenge and finish the review but I couldn’t will myself to do it.
There are great games. There are terrible games. The worst thing that a game could be is perfectly average. Nothing particularly good. Nothing particularly bad. The only thing that it’s great at is making you go “That was a game.”
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is the “sequel” to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a game that is very well-regarded by gamers and critics. LCTOO is just a game. Nothing more, nothing less.

For the first time in over a year, Mercedes was defeated on raw pace. It would normally be such a small moment but considering that the Silver Arrows have been dominant since the launch of the new rules formula in 2014, this was a massive moment for Formula One. Now, we might have a competition on our hands.
For this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix, it will be a battle between the Mercedes and Ferraris for supremacy. Which team will come out on top? This week’s Formula One Power Rankings tries to answer that question.
Wednesday Link-Off: The Media of Failure
It’s not just the politics of failure that have failed. It’s the news media of failure that has failed as well. Try as everyone might to make it work again, they have a long way to go to get there. If only they could fail at being failures but it seems as though politicians and the news media can only get failure right.
