F1 German Grand Prix: The Race to 2017

Is it a home victory if the manufacturer wins rather than the driver? In Italy, that is certainly the case as we know that Ferrari is a religion there. I can’t help but feel that Germany wouldn’t be as open to a foreign driver winning for the domestic constructor. That was the situation at Hockenheim after the German Grand Prix that saw Brit Lewis Hamilton take home the win for Germany’s Mercedes.

F1 Chinese Grand Prix: The Song Remains the Same

f1-2015-china-hamilton-victoryThe old adage is two’s company and three’s a crowd. I’m wondering if the podium is getting a little crowded for Mercedes’ liking. Sure, the Mercedes team came through with another 1-2 finish with Lewis Hamilton again winning the race. However, Sebastian Vettel came home third for his third-straight podium with Ferrari.

Normally, that would be the most tidbit of info to titillate the Formula One press but there was so much fun to be had this weekend in Shanghai.

F1 2015 Pre-Season News Roundup

The second day of The Lowdown’s week-long preview of the 2015 Formula One World Championship continues with some of the recent big news that has occurred. While we’ll be covering the big driver and team moves heading into 2015 in tomorrow’s post, there was plenty more happening in the off-season. Chief among those stories are the on-again, off-again entry of Marussia in the 2015 championship and the fallout from Fernando Alonso’s accident at the Barcelona test.
