Wednesday Link-Off: Definitely Not Winning

I’m back from my weekend in the big city. I’ll have a Humanoids column before my return visit in a few weeks. For now, here’s Blake Lively.

We’re still waiting for something of substance to happen in the NFL CBA negotiations. However, Bill Simmons boils down the owners’ position to a simple analogy. (ESPN)

With Charlie Sheen getting fired from Two and a Half Men, you’d think he could be out of work for a while. However, HDnet’s Mark Cuban has already sent him a job offer. (With Leather)

And Sheen also has a job offer for you. You can be Charlie Sheen’s #winning intern this summer. Winning that job would be winning. (Internships)

After the jump, more Sheen winning/not winning, stages of being drunk, and Tom Brady dancing. Continue reading

Fails of the Week

It’s time for the brief return of our not-so-regular regular feature. Every so often, we’re going to take a look at the most epic fails from the week that was in the Fails of the Week. This week, we have five videos and pictures that we think are the most epic fails of the week. Continue reading

Worst of Music: Kim Kardashian – Jam

Near as I can figure, Kim Kardashian got famous because of her sex tape with Ray J. Since then, her fifteen minutes of fame has been her wearing tight or little clothing and publicly regretting nude photo shoots. But now she has a new way to extend her fifteen minutes. She’s just released a new single. This one is an early front-runner for the 2011 WoM award and it’s called Jam. Continue reading

Sunday Link-Off: Not Winning

So Steve is away for the weekend, so it’s actually Jackie here writing your latest edition of the Sunday Link-Off. Since he has been nice enough to cover for my Entertainment Link-Offs while I was away, it would be nice of me to return the favour. Kicking off this entry is Vanessa Hudgens. She’s starring in the film Beastly this weekend… and from the looks of it, it’s not looking like it’ll be winning any Oscars next year.

After the jump, more Charlie Sheen moments, a flowchart to help you figure out which MLB team to root for, a new extreme form of hockey has emerged, and Canadian national anthem fail. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Use the Force

I’m back for the latest edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. There is a wide selection of films to check out this weekend including the animated film Rango starring Johnny Depp, the thriller The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt or perhaps CBS’ modern adaptation of Beauty and the Beast called Beastly. Oh almost forgot, there’s also the much delayed release of the comedy Take Me Home Tonight starring Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. If you’re not interested, you can still catch Teresa in the sci-fi actioner I Am Number Four.

After the jump, CW fail, some Oscars related tidbits that don’t necessarily involve James Franco, Charlie Sheen quotables, Darth Vader tackles a Toyota, first look at Tron Uprising and another round of movie charades for Modern Family. Continue reading

The Best of F My Life (Part 4)

It’s time for another part in our ongoing series in the best of the interweb that can help you through your day. We haven’t looked at the best of the hilariously depressing stories of F My Life since August so let’s make up for it now. After all, it’s the best site to go to for stories that make your life seem just that little bit better because it could be so much worse. Continue reading

Fantasy Racing Advice: March 4 – 6, 2011

Since I fancy myself a bit of a fantasy racing guru thanks to a few weekly top ten finishes in Wind Tunnel’s Super 7 Sweep and a top fifty in their Chase for the Championship, I thought I would share my insights and luck with you folks here. Since my primary fantasy series is the Wind Tunnel Super 7 Sweep, I’ll be gearing my advice to that game. That may change if you tell me what some of the more popular games are. Then I can gear my advice to help you out.

For now, here’s my pick for this weekend’s action in motorsports. Continue reading

New Lowdown Swag – Charlie Sheen Edition

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we’re all about winning on The Lowdown Blog these last couple of days. This week’s talk about Charlie Sheen and winning have inspired the creation of two new pieces of Lowdown Swag for you. The first has Charlie’s new catch phrase “I’m winning” on the front. The other is an unofficial design for Charlie’s buddies, the Vatican Assassin Warlocks. Continue reading

NHL Power Rankings: Week 22

The NHL’s trade deadline has come and gone with far more fanfare in the run up to the big day than on deadline day itself. What resulted was TSN’s six-minute deadline day recap which was equivalent to watching auto-fellatio. I’ve been using that word a lot… Probably because I sub-consciously think that the Power Rankings are slightly auto-fellatious. Anyway, the Western Conference gets a lot of mention up top this week in the PR and we have a repeat #1. Continue reading

Charlie Sheen Interviewed On Piers Morgan Tonight

Let’s wrap up our day of winning on The Lowdown Blog with one more feature-length Charlie Sheen interview. This morning, we had Charlie’s interview with Howard Stern. The night before that, he had his first live interview on TV with Piers Morgan. It’s quite a bit more serious than the Stern interview that covers Two and a Half Men, drugs, Charlie’s party lifestyle, his potential status as a role model and more.

After the jump, we have the full 48-minute interview. Continue reading
