Since marrying Kevin Federline (AKA K-Fed and AKA FedEx), Britney Spears has basically disappeared off the face of the earth apart from tabloid appearances marking her train wrecking life. The highlight of her musical career since marrying Federline in 2004 was the semi-nude behind the scenes pictures from the video for her 2007 song Gimme More. Chances are you’ve heard this week’s WoM winner before. The thing is that you may have heard this song in one of its many knock-off or reworked versions such as Blue and Yellow for the San Diego Chargers, Red and Yellow for the Kansas City Chiefs, Blue and Orange for the New York Mets, White and Navy for the New York Yankees, Black and Purple for the TCU Horned Frogs and Purp and Yellow for the Los Angeles Lakers. You didn’t think that I wouldn’t hand out a Worst of Music award winner for 2010. Train ducked the weekly WoM awards by never really finding their way to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 when I was picking out a winner. Sure, this song was bad but more in the ungodly annoying way instead of the downright atrocious way. But you can’t duck the WoM forever. Every year, DJ Earworm mashes up Billboard’s top 25 songs of the year into one megamix. This matchup is so popular that its release inevitably leads to his site crashing from the heavy traffic. And that’s why we have it here. This year’s United State of Pop may be subtitled “Don’t Stop The Pop” but it’s definitely heavy with hip hop and dance music.
