Sunday Link-Off: Tweet Me a River

morena-baccarin-gqmexico16-06Remember when we all had a laugh about Donald Trump’s campaign taking away his Twitter? Now that he has Twitter back, his White House team should be looking to do the same before long. I’m sure they’ll control the @POTUS Twitter account but they really need to take away his cellphone before he causes some trouble.

Anyway, it’s Sunday which means that you’re here looking for the links. Let’s kick things off with Morena Baccarin which reminds me that I’m well behind on Gotham.

Donald Trump had a doctor’s note saying he’d be the healthiest President ever but was he tested for irony deficiency. Less than an hour after an SNL skit about Trump tweeting too much, Trump was tweeting a complaint about it. (Vox)

China isn’t too happy that President-elect Trump is taking calls from Taiwan. They passive-aggressively let the world know about it. (The Guardian)

Also in questionable Asian diplomatic relations, apparently Trump is a backer if Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte who launched a drug war in his country leading to 38 deaths per day. (Think Progress)

Wednesday Link-Off: Baloney

morena-baccarin-emmys15-01I love when a good linkdump theme comes together. Today, we’re talking about people that are full of baloney. Normally I would use a stronger word but “baloney” was handed to me in one of the links today and who am I to argue with such a perfect word.

Anyway, it’s Wednesday which means that it’s time for us to do the links. Let’s kick off with Morena Baccarin.

Carly Fiorina was the big star of the most recent Republican Presidential candidate debate. It’s too bad she doesn’t actually have that good business record to stand on that she claims to have. (New York Times)

One would normally associate the GOP with the religious right but they’re planning to boycott and denounce the Pope’s visit to Washington. What is going on? (Salon)

Elections Canada is warning people to watch out for voter suppression tactics. It would be nice if their mandate and funding wasn’t neutered so they could do something about this. (iPolitics)

Sunday Link-Off: Foot In Mouth

I didn’t realize until yesterday that I’m a bit behind on writing posts for the upcoming week. We’ve got F1 Power Rankings and a Barrett-Jackson preview later this week. Anyway, with the new TV season starting soon, here’s one of the stars of Homeland, Morena Baccarin. You probably remember her from another show, though.

Mitt Romney did his best to shoot his presidential campaign in the foot. He had a massive gaff over the attack on the US Consulate in Libya. (Washington Post)

If his statement proved anything, it’s that Mitt Romney just isn’t ready to lead America. (Talking Points Memo)

It’s not just the “liberal media” who are giving Romney a hard time over his Libya statement. Even Republican foreign policy experts are embarrassed by what he said. (BuzzFeed)

After the jump, Fox News’ blatant anti-Obama work, a look back at the Summit Series and the story behind the SportsCenter theme. Continue reading
