The NHL Clearance Price Is Right

Inspired by this quiz about merchandise from the NBA, I decided to put an NHL spin on that Price is Right quiz. Most of the questions are about discounted merch for players that left during this off-season and the NHL is trying to clear the inventory. But you never know what might turn up. Not even all items are discounted. There are 20 different pieces of swag to try your skills on. Continue reading

Balsillie’s Bid For Coyotes Is Rejected

The old saying is that the third time is the charm. Jim Balsillie has attempted to buy the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Nashville Predators but failed both times. In his third attempt to buy an NHL franchise, the RIM CEO targeted the Phoenix Coyotes for a move to Hamilton. However, just like the last two tries, Jim was denied a chance to make it seven. Hockey (Last) Night In Canada: All Tied Up

After a big win in game three, the Penguins had an opportunity to ride the momentum to a tied series. However, if history has anything to teach us, game four was when the Pens wilted under the pressure last year. Detroit was without its MVP candidate Pavel Datsyuk once again. Would these counteracting factors favour the home side or the visitors? Continue reading

Hockey (Last) Night in Canada: There’s No Place Like Home

After being dumped by the Red Wings 3-1 in each of the first two games in the series, the Penguins were desperate for a win. The injury riddled Red Wings managed to get a well deserved rest prior to last night’s game, but was that enough for them recharge and take down a fired-up Malkin and the Pittsburgh Penguins?
