Entertainment Link-Off: White is the New Yellow

chloe bennett civil war premiereThe highly anticipated weekend for the Game of Thrones premiere is finally here. Rather than pondering over Jon Snow’s fate, let’s just take some time and go through this week’s ELO shall we? Let’s kick things off with red hot Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennett at the premiere of Captain America: Civil War. Sometimes I wish I had given Agents of SHIELD a chance, but for some reason I never got past one season of the show.

After the jump, addressing the issue of whitewashing Asian roles, adjusting the Marvel Cinematic Universe a little bit, that delayed Alien flick is still happening, and Arya Stark visits a local hobby shop. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: So It Continues…

sophie turnerWhere has the week gone? It’s Saturday again, so it’s time to go through the weekly links in entertainment. The Jungle Book is getting tons of great reviews, so it might be worthwhile to check it out in cinemas this weekend. Anyway, let’s kick the ELO off with Sophie Turner. The season 6 premiere for Game of Thrones is fast approaching. Get excited folks!

After the jump, everyone is fighting to make a Pokemon live action movie, a few Game of Thrones tidbits, a few sequel news, Furious 7 deserved a few Oscars, and check out the first Asian jedi! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Winter is Here

Charlize-Theron-GQ-UK-2016Welcome back to another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off! If you’re off to the cinemas this weekend, there is the Melissa McCarthy comedy The Boss or you can catch the first person shoot-em-up flick Hardcore Henry. Meanwhile in Australia, you can get first dibs on The Huntsman: Winter’s War. In that film, you can catch the return of Charlize Theron in her villainous role! Speaking of, she looks mighty fine in the latest shoot with GQ.

After the jump, watch out for Fast and Furiosa, a small tease for Kingsman 2, Batman v Superman could have gone darker, catch the trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and finally there’s the Honest Trailer for The Force Awakens.  Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Needs More Fun

alycia debnam careyIt appears that Batman v Superman is still taking the box office by storm as superhero fans continue to flock to the cinemas for Zack Snyder’s divisive film. Anyway, I’ll just chill at home and catch up on some TV shows. Let’s start off this ELO with Alycia Debnam Carey. I’ll miss seeing her on The 100 but at least she’ll be back on Fear the Walking Dead!

After the jump, The Rock previews the new Baywatch team, DC Comic movies need to be a bit lighter, Suicide Squad’s got a B-team, Alien Day is happening later this month and let’s discuss about who should pay for all the damage in superhero flicks. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Beautiful Disaster

amy adams batman v superman premiereSo the hotly anticipated Batman v Superman has finally hit theatres this weekend. The reviews are pouring in and they have been less than kind. While it is beautifully shot, the movie itself was a bit of a mess with an overstuffed third act. Anyway, go have a look for yourself! You’ll spot Amy Adams in the flick as Lois Lane.

After the jump, season 6 of Game of Thrones won’t spoil Winds of Winter that much, Pacific Rim gets the anime treatment, a few more tidbits on Batman v Superman, addressing the fan backlash for The 100, we’re all singing MmmBop wrong and get a quick tease of The Lego Batman Movie! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Without Fear

Gal Gadot In Leather Boots And White Shirt

Gal Gadot In Leather Boots And White Shirt

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be camping at home with Netflix on this weekend since Daredevil seaosn 2 has finally premiered. That’s right! The man without fear is back and all 13 episodes of comic book goodness is now available for streaming. Anyway, while I binge watch the series, you can check out this week’s links in entertainment. Gonna kick things off with Gal Gadot. She’ll be showing up next week in the highly anticipated Batman v Superman.

After the jump, teasing the post-credit scenes for Captain America Civil War, breaking down the visual effects of Deadpool, The 100 is facing a lot of fan backlash, a whole bunch of trailers to check out including Seth Rogen’s R-rated animated flick Sausage Party, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is like Kill Bill without killing Bill. Entertainment Link-Off: Down the Rabbit Hole

deborah ann woll - daredevil season 2 premiereTime for the weekly dose of entertainment links! If you’re keen on hitting up the cinemas, 10 Cloverfield Lane is finally out. Despite the fairly short notice (the trailer popped up in January), there seems to be a lot of buzz surrounding the Cloverfield non-sequel. Reviews have been very kind as well! Anyway, let’s get on with the links and kick off the ELO with Deborah Ann Woll at the season 2 premiere of Daredevil. The series is due to hit Netflix next week. Should be a fun weekend of binge-watching!

After the jump, new clips from Game of Thrones season 6, mark your calendars for Luke Cage, The CW renews its entire slate of scripted shows, meet Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and a look at how Deadpool should have ended. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Blades of Glory

JuJu-Chan-Crouching-Tiger-PremiereIt’s time for the weekly links to a random selection of links related to movies, TV and whatnot! In cinemas this weekend, you got the CGI heavy Gods of Egypt (which looks awful) and the all-star action thriller Triple 9 (which is almost fresh on RT). However if you prefer to stay at home, there’s the release of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny on Netflix. Reviews have not been too kind and even I’m hesitant on checking it out until I saw Ju Ju Chan on the red carpet for the show’s premiere.

After the jump, what it’s like not to be a white man in Hollywood, stunt performers should get Oscar nods, Captain America: Civil War might not have an ending that will satisfy everyone, and there will be no more Bones to pick with FOX. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Long Road Ahead

elodie yungI’m back! It’s been a few weeks but I finally got proper internet access to start posting the ELO’s again! While I’ve been gone, I still managed to check out the new releases in theatres. Deadpool is a must see, while Zoolander 2 is a bit of a misfire. Anyway, let’s get on with the links! Kicking this ELO off with Elodie Yung. She’s set to appear in Gods of Egypt soon and also she’ll be playing Elektra in season 2 of Daredevil premiering next month.

After the jump, The Rock tackles more earthquakes, Leo’s Oscar campaign has turned into a video game, plenty of Deadpool related links, a look at the hints in 10 Cloverfield Lane, there’s way too much walking on The Walking Dead and Melisandre (from Game of Thrones) makes an interesting baby shower guest…

Entertainment Link-Off: Over the Wall

caity lotzThe weekend is finally here! Time to sit back and check out the new releases like Dirty Grandpa or The 5th Wave in cinemas. Based on the reviews though, perhaps Netflix and chill doesn’t seem so bad now. Anyway, Legends of Tomorrow premiered earlier this week on The CW and the show is off to a solid start. Heck, just seeing Caity Lotz on the screen is totally worth devoting my time to the show.

After the jump, Avatar 2 is no long battling Star Wars for the box office crown, Oscars shake-up is on its way due to some recent controversy, Kylo Ren goes undercover, the return of Key and Peele and Happy Australia Day from Deadpool! Continue reading
