Entertainment Link-Off: Rise!

The final installment of the Batman franchise will lead the majority of the movie talk over the weekend as The Dark Knight Rises hits theatres. So there are two lovely leading ladies vying for Bruce Wayne’s attention including Catwoman played by Anne Hathaway and Miranda Tate played by Marion Cotillard. Let’s kick off the ELO with one of them, so here’s Anne Hathaway..

After the jump, a nice Comic-Con summary, a map of Gotham City, Jason Biggs wanted to be in Magic Mike, Thomas Jane returns as Frank Castle and new music from Boys Like Girls. Continue reading

Wednesday Link-Off: Dangers of the World

Looks like Steve is away for the day and that means I’ll be stepping in for your latest edition of the Wednesday Link-Off. Wait! Don’t run away! Damn it! Well for those that are still around, let’s see what I have pulled up for the weird and wacky over the past few days. Let’s start off the WLO with popular cosplayer Jessica Nigri as Harley Quinn at this year’s Comic-Con.

After the jump 9 healthy alcoholic drinks to consume, don’t surf in Western Australia, people just don’t know how to name their kids anymore, there’s a boom in the sexual activity among 50+ folks, don’t go driving in Russia, listen to a disgruntled Leafs fan sing a song about his favourite team and watch the entire Firefly panel at this year’s Comic Con. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Geek Out!

Nothing fancy out in theatres this weekend unless you’re into the whole Ice Age series. Perhaps it will be a good weekend to just catch up on the films that you’ve missed out on previously. It’s also Comic-Con weekend, so those that are lucky enough to take part in the event can go geek out over in San Diego instead. Anyway let’s kick off this edition of the ELO with Mila Kunis who is starring in the hit comedy Ted. She’s also appearing at this year’s Comic-Con so be on the lookout!

After the jump, a sneak peek at upcoming films like Pacific Rim, Elysium, Oz: The Great and the Powerful and The Hobbit, a few more tidbits on The Dark Knight Rises, fanboys vs. fangirls, Aaron Sorkin teaches you how to make movies and finally Gary Oldman channels his inner R. Kelly. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Be Kind Rewind

It’s time for another Saturday edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. Not many releases this weekend given that all the attention is poured onto The Amazing Spider-Man (which opened earlier this week). Opening this weekend is the Oliver Stone flick Savages starring Taylor Kitsch (in his third attempt to star in a film that is not a flop this year). You can also catch Blake Lively in the film, so let’s start off this entry with her.

After the jump, apparently The Notebook can ruin love as well, lots of things ended up on the cutting room floor for The Amazing Spider-Man, trouble with a screening for The Dark Knight Rises, the secrets behind this summer’s blockbusters revealed, Michael Bay channels his inner David Fincher and finally a video that can help us understand what Shakira is singing in her songs. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Work It All Night

It’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. Opening this weekend, we got a talking teddy bear in the not-so-kid-friendly film Ted. For the ladies out there, a film on male strippers is hitting the screen courtesy of Magic Mike starring Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer. Well it’s not all for the ladies, there’s some eye candy for the guys since it also stars Olivia Munn and Cody Horn, who just happens to kick off this week’s ELO.

After the jump, the new Total Recall trailer, watch Seth MacFarlane in motion-capture, comparing Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter to the real Abraham Lincoln, Dora the Explorer can be surprisingly badass, new music video from Clara C and watch how Facebook is forcing their email down our throats. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Rewriting History

In theatres this weekend, Pixar has another animated feature to unleash in the film Brave. Perhaps that Pixar magic is starting to lose its touch since the film has failed to achieve a tomatometer greater than 90% fresh. Anyway, on a non-family friendly look, there’s the twisted faux biopic Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The film also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, so let’s start it all off with her.

After the jump, Spider-Man is doing alright, a few new trailers to check out, Transformers 4 will be scaled down a bit and Gary Oldman wants sports athletes to stay away from making movies. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Hitting A Sour Note

In theatres this weekend, another critically-reviled Adam Sandler comedy makes its way to the silver screen with That’s My Boy. The bright side? It does have some eye candy courtesy of Leighton Meester and Eva Amurri. The other wide release is also rotten but fairing a bit better. You can catch the folks rocking out to Rock of Ages, which stars Julianne Hough, who happens to be kicking off the ELO this week.

After the jump, find out when Community returns, a fun Game of Thrones trivia, a few more Prometheus stuff, World War Z is a disaster, Zach Braff chills with a few Austrian dudes and Octomom doesn’t quite know how to make good quality porn. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Origin of Life

Alright, now we’re back on schedule. It’s another Saturday, so it’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. So you could go watch the third Madagascar film, but I think it’s more worthwhile to check out the quasi-Alien prequel Prometheus. Sure the story is compelling but you got some eye candy courtesy of Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace (pictured).

After the jump, DC wants to follow Marvel’s superhero ensemble concept, some Prometheus related tidbits, take a look at the behind the scenes of The Amazing Spider-Man, first look at Pacific Rim, Charlie Sheen wasn’t #winning and an apocalypse started by the consumption of a single banana. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Mirror Mirror

After a week and a bit, I am back with the latest edition of the Entertainment Link-Off! To make things up, let’s kick it all off with the leading ladies of Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

After the jump, another member of SNL leaves for greener pastures, Canadians and Americans have similar taste in TV, an superior alternate opening to John Carter revealed and watch S Club try to make a comeback on Aussie TV! Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Battle At Sea

After getting dibs on the film a month early over in Australia, Battleship is finally being released in North America. By now, many people may have spoiled the movie for you or perhaps told you how brainless it is. In fact, it is true. At least it was a fun action flick and it contained good eye candy like Brooklyn Decker here.

After the jump, some Marvel news, Harold and Kumar goes animated, breaking down the finale of How I Met Your Mother, 4 minute preview of the new Spider-Man flick and a look at some of the CW shows for the fall. Continue reading
