Entertainment Link-Off: Origin of Life

Alright, now we’re back on schedule. It’s another Saturday, so it’s time for another edition of the Entertainment Link-Off. So you could go watch the third Madagascar film, but I think it’s more worthwhile to check out the quasi-Alien prequel Prometheus. Sure the story is compelling but you got some eye candy courtesy of Charlize Theron and Noomi Rapace (pictured).

After the jump, DC wants to follow Marvel’s superhero ensemble concept, some Prometheus related tidbits, take a look at the behind the scenes of The Amazing Spider-Man, first look at Pacific Rim, Charlie Sheen wasn’t #winning and an apocalypse started by the consumption of a single banana.

With the success of The Avengers sweeping the world, Warner Brothers and DC want dibs on this movie market share, so they’re once again thinking of getting the ball rolling on a Justice League film. (Variety)

So rumours have been floating around since the release date of G.I. Joe: Retaliation has been moved back. Director Jon. M. Chu has finally decided to speak up and address the reason behind the release date change. (Generals Joes)

With Prometheus, the “loose prequel” to Alien, coming out this weekend, it would be appropriate to take a look at the visual history of Alien before going to see the movie. (Rotten Tomatoes)

Quentin Tarantino is always good for his revenge flicks and his latest Django Unchained looks like another fun addition to his line of films. (Slashfilm)

While The Avengers took a fun/comedic approach, it seems like the folks at Warner Brothers and DC want to make their superhero ensemble flick Justice League a bit darker. (Comic Book Movie)

Ridley Scott decided to give Prometheus a bit of a trim so that it would comply with the UK film ratings. That being said, despite the edits, the film does contain enough cringe worthy moments that will satisfy the typical Alien fans. (BBC)

In an article about the new Transformers 3D ride at Universal Studios, it is also revealed that the upcoming fourth Transformers flick will likely be Michael Bay’s last as he plans to get the ball rolling for someone else to take over in the future. (LA Times)

Rumour alert: Terminator 5 is scheduled to shoot in 2013. Also T6 is also in the works in hopes of closing out the Terminator franchise… that is until a reboot happens. (Movies with Butter)

The Robocop remake is starting to sound better and better. Sam Jackson has signed on for the film! (The Hollywood Reporter)

Even former Saved by the Bell star Mark-Paul Gosselaar admits that the 90s comedy was not exactly a good show. (Yahoo)

So much for #winning. Charlie Sheen admits that he was in denial after he got turfed on Two and a Half Men and went on his one-man show tour. (Rolling Stone)

Given the success of Snow White and the Huntsman, Universal is looking to spin a sequel out of the movie. I’m not sure what else is there to explore here. (Collider)

Just to build up further excitement for The Amazing Spider-Man. Watch 25 minutes worth of behind-the-scenes footage for the film! (Slashfilm)

So we got Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, so now director Rob Cohen wants to develop something along the lines of that. He is now going to turn Isaac Newton into the next action hero… (Variety)

Now I’m excited to see what Guillermo del Toro has to offer in the epic sci-fi flick Pacific Rim. Now an official image has surfaced and shows lead Idris Elba all suited up. Looks impressive. (The Film Stage)

Fast Five director Justin Lin has teamed up with Youtubers like KevJumba, NigaHiga and more to launch a new channel YOMYOMF. What better way to introduce this than to have an epic fight over a banana. Oh by the way, how did they get Jessica Alba to be in the video???
