Superman vs. Batman: Who Wins?

Ahead of next week’s release of the DC Comics fighting game Injustice, Jackie and I have been debating who would win in the ultimate fight between Batman and Superman. No other pair of battling superheroes can stir up the same debate that these two can, even the whole lot of Marvel heroes.

Yesterday, we made our cases for our superhero of choice. As a long time fan, Jackie said that Batman beats Superman. Being a fan since childhood, I said that Superman would beat the Bat. Now, it’s your turn to tell us which superhero would win the ultimate fight.

Superman vs. Batman: Why Batman Wins

batman rulesIn anticipation of the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us, Steve and I are tackling the ultimate question as we look forward to the game’s release. Today, we would look at who would win the fight between Superman and Batman. While Steve chose to back the dude in the red cape and tight blue spandex, I will look at why Batman would win.

So why would Batman win you ask? Well he’s the freakin’ Dark Knight! He’s badass! He’s the Batman! That’s right. Crushed it.

Sure, Batman doesn’t have the superhuman abilities like Superman. He can’t fly. He ain’t got no super hearing. He certainly doesn’t have x-ray vision. He can’t shoot solar energy from his eyes, but at least he ain’t afraid of Kryptonite! Continue reading

Superman vs. Batman: Why Superman Wins

batman-vs-supermanIn the run up to the release of Injustice: Gods Among Us next week, we’re looking ahead to the game by answering the ultimate question. It’s not life, the universe and everything. It’s who would win in a fight between Superman and Batman. Today, Steve looks at why Superman would win.

Superman wins because he’s freaking Superman! That’s it. Mic drop…

Okay, you want an actual answer? Well, Superman is very appropriately named because he is the most super of all superheroes. He can fly, he has x-ray vision, he has super hearing and vision (not just x-ray vision), he can shoot solar energy from his eyes and is almost completely invulnerable.

There is only one way that you can hurt Superman and there lies the only possible way that Batman can beat Superman.

F1 Power Rankings: Chinese Grand Prix

After a couple of weeks off, the 2013 Formula One World Championship returns to action with the Chinese Grand Prix. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I really hate the schedule’s two weeks on, two weeks off, two weeks on, two weeks off schedule to start the year. Still, I don’t hate it as much as Adrian Sutil must hate returning to the scene of the crime.

magdalena-frackowiak-victoriassecret13-04It’s time for the middle of the week which means it’s time for the links. Let’s skip the intro and go straight to the show. First, here’s Magdalena Frackowiak who is making her first appearance on the blog.

Thanks to DVRs, Netflix shows, downloading and social media, has the spoiler warning gone the way of the dodo? (Wired)

Speaking of going the way of the dodo, could Microsoft not be long for this world? (Yahoo Finance)

You may not know but I’m a bit of a cricket fan and watch the IPL every weekend during the spring. Anyway, here’s a look at how Washington National (I think that’s the singular) Bryce Harper would fare in cricket. (Natstradamus)

Injustice: Gods Among Us Demo Impressions

injustice-gods-among-us-posterIt seems exceedingly rare that a developer or publisher releases a demo of an anticipated upcoming game. Fortunately, we got one for NetherRealms upcoming DC Comics fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The game has been hyping the debate between comic book fans as to whether Superman or Batman would win in a fight but is there more to this game than that?

IndyCar – GP of Alabama: Bouncing Back

indycar-2013-barber-hunter-reay-victoryThe first round of the season at St. Petersburg didn’t go well for many of the expected championship contenders. Will Power’s race was derailed when he was hit by J.R. Hildebrand. Dario Franchitti was the first car out after hitting the wall on cold tires. And Ryan Hunter-Reay had a mechanical problem that relegated him to an 18th place finish.

This week at the Barber Motorsports Park, two out of the three were able to turn their seasons around. Franchitti finished 25th for the second consecutive race but Power was able to finish fifth. However, it was the defending champion Ryan Hunter-Reay who picked up his first win of the season.

Sunday Link-Off: Macho Madness

elisabeth-moss-gq13-03Normally, I’m in good shape when it comes to planning and writing each week. This week, not so much. I have an idea what I want to do. Tomorrow, will be the IndyCar race recap. Later this week, Jackie and I will be talking superheroes. With Injustice coming out next week, we’ll be looking at the eternal Superman vs. Batman battle and run a quick demo impressions post. Okay, so I have a plan for next week. I just haven’t written anything yet.

Anyway, since Mad Men is back this weekend, here’s Elisabeth Moss.

Temporary college football powerhouse Auburn was up to no good in its glory days. That’s not much to anyone’s surprise but the extent of the corruption might be. (Roopstigo)

But in the sake of fairness, I should point out that damn near everyone is denying that Auburn story. (SB Nation)

You may not have heard of Ed Felten but he’s one of the most influential computer scientists slash hackers of our time. Now, he’s turning his attention away from customer software and onto the so-called automated selection algorithms of the likes of the TSA. (Wired)

Entertainment Link-Off: End of the World

emma watson gqNot much competition in theatres this weekend. First you get the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park. Then there’s the remake of Evil Dead. Horror fans should be delighted now that they upped the ante on the gore and violence compared to the Sam Raimi original. Anyway, not sure who to kick off the latest ELO with, so here’s Emma Watson from her latest GQ spread.

After the jump, a look at Roger Ebert’s legacy, a man picked apart a movie trailer just to get his movie ticket money back, watch Weird Al get axed, Jack the Giant Killer lost a lot of money, an update on the Veronica Mars movie and watch Seth Rogen and friends tackle the end of the world.
