2015 NHL All-Star Game Mock Fantasy Draft

nhl-all-star-game-2015-bannerIt’s been three years since the last NHL All-Star Game. Thanks to the most recent NHL lockout and last year’s Winter Olympics, the NHL hasn’t held their All-Star Game since 2012. One thing that hasn’t changed since the All-Star Game’s return is that we will precede the All-Star festivities with our very own NHL All-Star fantasy draft between Jackie and I.

So how did our mock draft play out? Our draft results after the jump.

Steve’s Ridiculous 2012 NHL Entry Draft Predictions

As is my annual tradition here on the blog, I make completely outlandish predictions as to what will happen at the NHL Entry Draft in my role as the blog’s NHL Outsider. Let’s face it, the experts are just making an educated guess as to what happen based on logic. Fans of many teams will know that logic and common sense are a very, very small part of the decision making process of your typical NHL GM.

Hit the jump for my predicted top ten in this year’s NHL draft. Continue reading

2012 NHL All-Star Game Mock Fantasy Draft

This year’s NHL All-Star Game is continuing the unique format that made quite a splash last year. For the second year, two team captains will get a chance to draft their own All-Star teams to play with in the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft. Now Jackie and I thought this sounded like a good idea so we decided to do our own All-Star Game mock draft. We’d alternate picks until we both had 21 man rosters like the real thing.

So how did our mock draft play out? Our draft results after the jump. Continue reading

2011 NHL All-Star Game Injury Replacement Mock Draft

It seems that our NHL All-Star Game Mock Draft was cursed before it was even posted. Over the last couple of days, five players have dropped out of the All-Star Game due to injury. Included in the injured players were some of the NHL’s biggest names including Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jarome Iginla. In order to make our duel of the All-Star GMs fair, Jackie and I are drafting the replacement players.

How do our new teams shape up? Find out after the jump. Continue reading

Steve’s Ridiculous NHL Mock Draft

I’ve read at least a half-dozen mock drafts for tomorrow’s NHL Entry Draft. All of them are very clean and neat. No one will make any trades. No owners are going to meddle in draft choices and leave everyone scratching their heads. Well, let’s face it, we don’t live in the utopian world that most mock drafts exist in. That’s why I’ve decided to do a mock draft based not on the best players or who would fit best with a team but based on who is doing the drafting.

Since I know very little about the players in the draft, I’ll cap this at the top ten. That doesn’t mean there won’t be some interesting results. Continue reading
