The Evolution of Video Game Consoles (Infographic)

Earlier this week, I mentioned that rumours suggest that we’ll see the PlayStation Four and likely the Xbox 720 reach store shelves before the end of the year. That means that the major console manufacturers will all have a console in the eighth generation of home video games consoles. We’ve come a long way since the first generation of consoles which included the likes of the Magnavox Odyssey, Coleco Telstar and Nintendo Color TV Game.

No, I’m not trying to do a Tommy From Quiznee thing with that headline. I just thought it worked for the football theme of the post. The Growing Gap Between the Rich and the Poor (Infographic)

While we seldom use this blog as a political pulpit, we feel as though we have an obligation to ensure that you are exposed to the facts. So much of politics is the spin. Facts, comparatively, are hard to come by. While the Republicans would have you belive that lowering taxes for the rich would benefit everyone, it would really only benefit the rich.

I say that because the wealth gap between the rich and poor has grown massively over the last 90 years. In terms of real dollars, the gap between the average one-percenter and the 99% was never bigger than at the peak of the housing bubble. In 2008 (the last year with complete data), the average pre-tax income of the top 1% was almost $1.1M greater than the bottom 99-percent’s. What Happens To Olympic Venues After The Games? (Infographic)

The 2012 Olympics wrapped up last night with the closing ceremonies. To put on two weeks worth of the biggest spectacle in sports cost an estimated $15 billion for operating costs, the venues and infrastructure upgrades. As happens with all major sporting events where new arenas and stadia have been built, the question that arises after the event is what happens to the venues. Some cities have regular events and occupants of their venues. Other stadia stay empty most of the time.
