Sunday marked the second of two trips that the IndyCar Series takes to Canada. After the Toronto Indy, the stars of IndyCar had their second of back-to-back Canadian races in Edmonton on the temporary circuit at the Edmonton City Centre Airport. F1 German GP: Seeing Red
The McLarens showed up this weekend with some new updates which had them fastest in Friday’s opening practice. The Red Bulls had been showing strong pace and Fernando Alonso said that the RB8 was the fastest car since the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, a fast car can only get you so far. Sometimes, having the fastest driver is all you need. After disappointment in the final stretch of the British Grand Prix, Alonso fought off the pressure to pick up his third win of the season. Sunday Link-Off: The New Media Rises
You probably didn’t notice but I was on vacation last week. Thanks to Jackie for covering for me and doing last week’s Wednesday links. I’m back in action today with the Sunday links. F1 Power Rankings: German Grand Prix
We’re two races from Formula One’s annual summer break. This year’s German Grand Prix marks the return to the Hockenheimring after a year’s absence due to alternating the race with the Nurburgring. Heading into this weekend’s race, it looks like the season is going to come down to a battle between Ferrari and Red Bull. If it’s not worth talking about, then it must be the Not News of the Week.
A Houston woman got into a car crash with a bus while driving her three kids. When she got out of her car, it wasn’t to find help. She was getting ice cream from the nearby CVS Pharmacy. If that wasn’t enough to cool her down, she also stripped while eating the ice cream. For her trouble, the woman was charged with child endangerment. I hope she tries to defend herself on the grounds of it being 91+ degrees that day. Continue reading
Formula One: 2012 Silverstone Young Drivers Test Recap
As a cost-saving measure, some teams had proposed holding the annual young drivers test at Silverstone after the British Grand Prix rather than holding in Abu Dhabi after the season ended. However, not all the teams agreed with the proposal so we were left with three of the smaller teams sticking around after the British GP to test some potential future F1 stars. Continue reading
