FOTA Breakaway Series Schedule Leaked

FIA Starts Legal Action Against FOTA

As I predicted earlier today, the FIA will be taking legal action against FOTA over their proposed breakaway series. The FIA claims that the FOTA teams have breached contractual obligations and violated competition laws. FOTA Announces F1 Breakaway Series

The Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) has dropped a bombshell ahead of tomorrow’s announcement of the final entry list for the 2010 Formula One World Championship. Team Seattle Finishes 30th at Le Mans

Slow and steady may not have won the race for Patrick Dempsey and the #81 Team Seattle – Advanced Engineering Ferrari F430, but it did get them a solid performance. Dempsey and teammates Joe Foster and Don Kitch Jr. completed 301 laps over 24 hours to finish 9th in the GT2 class of 17 starters and 30th overall. Continue reading

Dempsey Does Le Mans (UPDATED)

This may come as a surprise to Grey’s Anatomy fans but Patrick Dempsey, also known as Dr. Derek Shepherd or “McDreamy” on the ABC drama, is an avid race car driver. He’s a regular in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series in a GT class Mazda RX-8. Sunday At The Races

For thirty-five years, the final Sunday in May has been host to three of the most prestigious motor races in the world. The day starts with the crown jewel of the Formula One World Championship, the 67th running of the Grand Prix of Monaco. At midday in North America, the crown jewel of American racing is run, the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race. The day ends with the longest annual oval race in the world and one of NASCAR Sprint Cup’s “Grand Slam” events, the Coca-Cola 600.

Happy Indy 500 Bump Day

In a little under a half-hour is the last chance qualifier for the biggest spectacle in American open wheel racing. Three cars on the entry list haven’t made it into the field for the 500. Today, they have a six-hour qualifying session to run faster than at least one other car currently qualified and then try not to get bumped. Formula 1: FIA Rules Diffusers Legal

The FIA International Court of Appeal has ruled that the diffusers run by Brawn GP, Williams, and Toyota are legal.  The reasons for the decision haven’t been handed down as of writing but this means that the three teams will be able to race this weekend in China. Continue reading
