All the talk coming into game two of the Eastern Conference finals was about the Hurricanes. In each of the past two rounds, the Cardiac Canes lost game one before taking game two en route to a seven game series win. Did Carolina have enough to even the series before heading home or did Pittsburgh make a Stanley Cup Finals rematch all but inevitable? Continue reading

Which Team Should Adopt Michael Vick?
I’m sure you’ve heard by now that former NFL star and admitted dog abuser Michael Vick has been released from prison and is now under house arrest. Upon his release talk immediately turned to what Vick would do next. Would NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstate Vick and allow him to play this season? Would any team have anything to do with a player with as much “baggage” as Vick? Well, I’d like to have a little fun with this whole story and speculate where the man otherwise known as Ron Mexico might end up complete with low-grade photoshop work. Continue reading
Breaking News: WWE Raw Going to L.A.
As reported by CNBC’s Darren Rovell, WWE’s Monday Night Raw will go live next Monday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Rovell says that no money changed hands but I would find that hard to believe because Denver wrestling fans have been jilted and the WWE has to sell tickets for the show. The WWE had also entertained an offer from Madison Square Garden in New York. Continue reading
Vince McMahon’s Greatest Feuds
I’m sure you’ve heard by now about the brouhaha that’s developed between Vince McMahon and Stan Kroenke. Of course, Vinny Mac is no stranger to controversy and he is never willing to back down from a fight. As a result, he’s been involved in a number of great on- and off-screen feuds. Continue reading
Hockey (Last) Night In Canada: Motoring Into Chicago
After a hard fought game one, both teams came out hard in game two. The Blackhawks were looking to go back to Chicago with a split from the first two games in Detroit. The Red Wings were looking to end the series before it really got going. Continue reading
WWE and Denver Nuggets Ready to Rumble
Whachya gonna do Denver? Whachya gonna do when Vince McMahon runs wild on you? That’s the question being asked after the NBA booked game four of the Western Conference finals at Denver’s Pepsi Centre on May 25th. The only problem is that, back in August of ’08, Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke booked an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw for the same night. Like an NBA game, Raw broadcasts live every Monday. Now we have a battle worthy of a Hell in a Cell match. Continue reading
Hockey (Last) Night in Canada: Stepping Away from Hockey Purgatory
It’s the battle of the Staal brothers! That line will never match the epic battle between Ovechkin and Crosby… and it clearly demonstrated that last night as both Eric and Jordan Staal were mostly silent throughout the game.
Hockey (Last) Night In Canada: I Can See Cleary Now
The Western Conference finals got off to a big start in Detroit yesterday. The Red Wings and Blackhawks renewed pleasantries in Detroit for game one of their battle for a shot at Lord Stanley’s Cup. The two Original Six rivals have already battled in a high profile matchup this year when they met at Wrigley Field for the Winter Classic on January 1st. Continue reading
NHL Playoffs: Conference Finals Preview
From sixteen to eight to the final four. The NHL Playoffs rolls along with four teams looking to add another Stanley Cup championship banner to the rafters of their respective arenas. In the East, two relatively new franchises that have recently battled for the Cup look to make a return trip. The West will be one by winner of what will be a bitter battle of Original Six rivals. Happy Indy 500 Bump Day
In a little under a half-hour is the last chance qualifier for the biggest spectacle in American open wheel racing. Three cars on the entry list haven’t made it into the field for the 500. Today, they have a six-hour qualifying session to run faster than at least one other car currently qualified and then try not to get bumped. Continue reading
