F1 Malaysian GP: Slip and Slide

A race that would have been very straight forward for the McLaren if it stayed dry became an instant classic thanks to the changing conditions of the Sepang Circuit. In the end, it wasn’t the Mercedes-powered cars that led the way but the Ferraris that were in front at the end of the race. The first driver across the line was Fernando Alonso but he wasn’t the star of the race. The real hero of the day was Sergio Perez who hounded Alonso home to finish in second. Continue reading

If you thought that we were only hockey, football and Formula One fans around here at The Lowdown Blog, you would’ve been wrong. We’re also baseball fans. This year, we’ve got a couple of different rotisserie baseball pools for you to join.

The two Ferraris are difficult to muscle around a single lap but much quicker over the course of the race. And, most importantly, does last weekend’s race on a street circuit indicate the course this season will take? Continue reading

Of course, the combination of the new rules and testing times is not necessarily an accurate portrayal of who’s fast which makes predicting the season a difficult proposition. Especially since most teams and drivers are saying they expect a mixed up grid at least until we get the first major car updates at the start of the European portion of the season. Continue reading
