The weeks of speculation have come to an end. Yesterday, everyone said that he was going to sign in Chicago. Earlier today, Vick was about to become a member of the Buffalo/Toronto Bills. Finally, reports have come out this evening that Michael Vick has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The deal has been reported to be a one-year deal with a team option for a second year. Vaughn Martin Signs With San Diego
Former UWO Mustang defensive lineman Vaughn Martin has signed a contract with the San Diego Chargers. While nothing has been confirmed officially, the contract is believed to be a four-year deal with the first two year guaranteed. Martin is expected to get a $500,000 signing bonus in keeping with the standard for fourth round draft picks. Money hasn’t been confirmed either but is expected to be in the range of $2.2M to $2.5M. However, we can confirm Martin’s rating in Madden 10. He has an overall rating of 54.
Which Team Should Adopt Michael Vick?
I’m sure you’ve heard by now that former NFL star and admitted dog abuser Michael Vick has been released from prison and is now under house arrest. Upon his release talk immediately turned to what Vick would do next. Would NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstate Vick and allow him to play this season? Would any team have anything to do with a player with as much “baggage” as Vick? Madden 2010 Cover Athletes Revealed
EA Sports made the announcement that video game and football fans have been waiting for since the Super Bowl. This year, for the first time ever, a Madden NFL game will have two players on the cover. Starring on the cover will be safety Troy Polamalu of the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald of the NFC champion Arizona Cardinals. Continue reading
Detroit Lions Introduce New Logo
I’m not sure whether it’s a late April Fools’ Day joke, a desperate attempt to show that they aren’t a complete farce, or a typical 4/20 brainstorming session but the Detroit Lions have updated their logo. The new logo is the same leaping lion logo but it is supposed to look more fierce. Does anyone actually consider anything remotely related to the Lions “fierce”? Continue reading
