Football Night In Canada: Week 7 Wrapup
Week 7 is a critical week in the run to the Grey Cup. This is the last week before the Labour Day rivalry week that all eight teams will be in action. That means that teams on the outside looking in can make up a lot of ground before that final sprint to the playoffs. Continue reading
Football Night In Canada: Week 6 Wrapup
Each team crossed the one-third mark at the final whistle of their games this week. Some teams (like BC, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto) are trying to turn their season around an either get a divisional or cross-over playoff berth. Football Night In Canada: Week 4 Wrapup
The fourth week of the 2009 CFL season brings us past the one-fifth mark of the 19 week regular season. This week was all about the dichotomy between the contenders and the pretenders. The surprisingly successful Hamilton Tiger-Cats would test how good they were against the undefeated Alouettes. Elsewhere, floundering teams would meet in Winnipeg as the Argos came to town. Calgary battled B.C. in a West Division Final rematch from last season while Edmonton and Saskatchewan trying to snap their (short) losing skids. Continue reading

While all the games weren’t vintage rivalries didn’t mean that the teams didn’t give their all and go hard for the win. Among the big games for the week were Saskatchewan and Montreal battling to be the sole remaining undefeated team this season. However, even that game failed to provide any real excitement at the wire. Continue reading
Football Night In Canada: Kicking Off Week 2
The second week of the CFL season kicked off in Montreal at Molson Stadium on the campus of McGill University. While school may be out for the students, that didn’t mean that there wasn’t a massive crowd on hand. Like the games last week, yesterday was a playoff rematch of the East Division Final between the Als and the Edmonton Eskimos. Would the Als come out on top like the last time they met? Continue reading
Football Night In Canada: Canada Day Kickoff
The start of summer means the return of football. As the NFL gears up for training camp, the Canadian Football League kicks off the regular season. The season opening double-header was one that fans would love. The night would start with the battle of Ontario as Toronto made the short trip to Hamilton. Across the country, the Alouettes visited the Stampeders in a Grey Cup rematch. Continue reading
