Having put in 110 starts so far in his F1 career, it seemed as though that Nico Rosberg’s claim to fame would be being the son of 1982 World Drivers’ Champion Keke Rosberg and being high on the list of most starts without a win. F1 Power Rankings: Chinese Grand Prix
Two races into the 2012 Formula One World Championship and we only know that we know almost nothing. McLaren look to be the fastest but have yet to prove themselves on a permanent race circuit this season. Mercedes AMG are fast in qualifying when there’s unlimited DRS use which allows them to engage the front-wing F-duct. The Sauber appears to be the best of the rest but Williams could grab that spot if they had some luck.
This race could be the most important one to set the tone for the season if it’s dry. We’ve yet to have a dry race at a Tilke-drome and how you perform on Hermann Tilke-designed circuits is the biggest factor in success during the season. Continue reading
F1 Malaysian GP: Slip and Slide
A race that would have been very straight forward for the McLaren if it stayed dry became an instant classic thanks to the changing conditions of the Sepang Circuit. In the end, it wasn’t the Mercedes-powered cars that led the way but the Ferraris that were in front at the end of the race. The first driver across the line was Fernando Alonso but he wasn’t the star of the race. The real hero of the day was Sergio Perez who hounded Alonso home to finish in second. Continue reading

We’re only four days removed from the start of the 2012 Formula One World Championship. Despite how the pecking order looked after testing and qualifying, the top two teams were still McLaren and Red Bull. After that is anyone’s guess. The Mercedes are fast but lack reliability. The two Ferraris are difficult to muscle around a single lap but much quicker over the course of the race. And, most importantly, does last weekend’s race on a street circuit indicate the course this season will take? Continue reading

For the first time since 2010, we’re back with our trademark Formula One race recap and analysis posts. And what a time to bring these back because the running order has been mixed up once again. F1 2012 Season Preview: Predictions
It’s time for the third and final part of our Formula One season preview. With the examination of the teams, drivers, and new rules out of the way, it’s time to put all of the information we have together for predictions for the 2012 season. Of course, the combination of the new rules and testing times is not necessarily an accurate portrayal of who’s fast which makes predicting the season a difficult proposition. Formula One: 2012 Barcelona Test 2 Recap
Last week saw the drivers and teams of competing in the 2012 Formula One World Championship return to the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona for the final pre-season test before the start of the championship. This was the final opportunity for the teams to tune their cars up before the first official session of the season.
