Sometimes, an idea is so good and so unique that we have to do it again… after a three-year hiatus. For the first time since the initial event, it’s time for the second ever Hottest Canadian Bracket Challenge. This is the first, and therefore best, public poll/bracket to determine who is the hottest Canadian woman in the world.
After the jump, we have the bracket and the list of the first round match-ups.
Three years ago, we tried a little experiment on the blog. We got into the swing of March Madness with our first bracketology tournament, the Hottest Canadian bracket. At the time, it was the first bracket dedicated to determining the people’s choice for the hottest Canadian woman in the world. After a few weeks of competition, Kristin Kreuk was named the first Hottest Canadian.
After a short hiatus, the Hottest Canadian showdown is coming back in 2015! There’s just one thing missing: the nominees. We have a draft list ready and ranked but we’re not going to get everyone that should be on the list on there and in the right spot.

Over the last three weeks, we’ve gone from the 32 hottest Canadians to 16 to 8 to 4 and now to the final two in our 2012 Hottest Canadian showdown. The bracket showdown started off with the favourites having a fairly easy time making their way through but we’ve got two lower seeds in the final. After two weeks, we finally exited the regions stages of the competition and are left with only four women who can take home the crown of the Hottest Canadian for 2012. The Elite Eight was closely contested and left us with three upsets and only one #1 seed surviving out of the three that made it to the round of eight. We’re down to the eight hottest Canadian women as voted by our readers. This round is our regional finals as each of the four “regions” that we broke the bracket into crown their champions. Upsets were in abundance in the Sweet Sixteen as three of our eight matchups had the lower seed pulling off the win. We even saw our first #1 seed bite the dust. We’re on to the second day of the Sweet Sixteen round of our Hottest Canadian competition. Of the eight women left in this half of the bracket, two of them were upset winners and each were #6 seeds. It’s the first day of the second round of the 2012 Hottest Canadian showdown. The original field of 32 has been cut in half to 16. Our first half of the Sweet Sixteen features a pair of upset winners from the Shield Region looking to advance to the Elite Eight. We’re down to the final of our four regions in our first Hottest Canadian showdown. When creating the bracket, we ranked all women from 1 to 32. By coincidence, then, the Maritime Region has become the underdog bracket. I’m not sure if any of these eight women today would come to mind when picking a #1 overall seed but they all could walk away with the crown. Continue reading
