In the two races since the European portion of the season ended, Sebastian Vettel has dominated proceedings. So it wasn’t much of a surprise that Vettel took his third-straight race victory. His win and Alonso’s third place finish has given the twice-defending champion the lead in the World Drivers’ Championship. F1 Singapore GP: Bright Lights, Big City, Bigger Win
This was a tale of two races. The first thirds of the race was dominated by Lewis Hamilton who led from the pole. The final two-thirds was a different story as a gearbox failure ended Lewis’ day and handed the victory to Sebastian Vettel. F1 German GP: Seeing Red
The McLarens showed up this weekend with some new updates which had them fastest in Friday’s opening practice. The Red Bulls had been showing strong pace and Fernando Alonso said that the RB8 was the fastest car since the Bahrain Grand Prix. However, a fast car can only get you so far. Sometimes, having the fastest driver is all you need. After disappointment in the final stretch of the British Grand Prix, Alonso fought off the pressure to pick up his third win of the season. Formula One: 2011 Barcelona Test 2 Recap
With the Bahrain Grand Prix cancelled because of political unrest, pre-season testing was extended for Formula One. All 12 teams were in attendance for the final test which was once again held at the Circuit de Catalunya, host to the Spanish Grand Prix. Not surprisingly, Red Bull and Ferrari were the fastest looking cars once again. However, a few more teams laid down some times to show that they wouldn’t be pushovers either. Continue reading

For the second straight test, the teams were overshadowed by off-track F1 news. This week’s testing played second fiddle to debate over the postponement of the Bahrain Grand Prix because of protests in the country. F1 Abu Dhabi GP: Passing The Torch
The final race of the season didn’t need a contrived playoff format to produce proper drama in the final round of the 2010 Formula One World Championship. With the World Constructors’ Championship all wrapped up, the Red Bull duo of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel looked to steal the championship from Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso. Vettel did all he could to win the title by speeding away from Alonso and Webber but it took a little bit of help for the German to win the World Drivers’ Championship. A bad strategy call dropped Alonso down the standings and it was Sebastian Vettel who won the 2010 Formula One World Championship. Continue reading
F1 Brazilian GP: We Are The (Constructors’) Champion
The Brazilian Grand Prix has a history of crowning champions. Since 2005, the World Drivers’ Champion had clinched his crown at the Interlagos Circuit in Sao Paulo. All eyes were on Fernando Alonso as he tried to claim his third championship. However, a third place finish leaves the championship open for the final race of the season. However, Red Bull Racing clinched the World Constructors’ Championship thanks to a one-two finish led by Sebastian Vettel who scored his fourth win of the season. Continue reading
F1 Japanese GP: Seeing Red (Bulls)
This weekend was all Red Bull Racing all the time. They dominated practice, qualifying and the race as Sebastian Vettel led Red Bull home in the team’s third one-two finish and first since the Monaco Grand Prix in May. While the race may never have been in question, the result did shake up the World Drivers’ Championship picture. Outside of the top five, the race didn’t disappoint as we saw a superb drive from a mid-pack driver and a demolition derby in the first turn of the race. Continue reading
F1 British GP: Something Old, Something New…
The old wedding adage seemed to fit perfectly for yesterday’s British Grand Prix. The irony of that statement is that the marriage at Red Bull is quickly disintegrating. But something old was Silverstone, host of the first ever round of the Formula One World Championship in 1950. Something new is the Arena Circuit layout which was designed for Moto GP and used for this year’s F1 Grand Prix. Something borrowed was Mark Webber’s front wing which was borrowed by Sebastian Vettel. And something blue was Mark Webber’s Red Bull as it streaked across the line as he took his third win of the season. Continue reading
F1 European GP: Bull Rush
The Red Bull Racing boys picked up their fourth 1-2 qualifying result of the season. They also picked up the lion’s share of the highlights in this race, though they finished at opposite ends of the field. Sebastian Vettel picked up the win while Mark Webber made a spectacular early exit. The big story of the race may have been the penalties handed out during and after the race. During the race one podium driver received a penalty but it didn’t affect his race. After the race, ten drivers were penalized but there wasn’t much shuffling around of the order. Continue reading
