2011 NFL Week 2 Picks

I am not going to lie; I got absolutely crushed in Week 1. I wasn’t able to get anything going. I had a terrible feel for a lot of teams and a lot of teams really surprised me. Chicago was far, far more impressive than I ever thought they would be. The strong defensive performance wasn’t that surprising but Cutler performance was surprising. Chicago truly looked like a dominant team. It’s possible that I have significantly underrated them.

Additionally, Atlanta was an absolute disappointment. The Falcons looked brutal on all three aspects of the game. They were behind on special teams, defence and offence. The effort was so poor I am concerned about their ability to compete for the rest of the season. I still think they are making the playoffs but I feel a lot less secure about them this week than I did in the preseason.

Week 12 NFL Picks

I can’t believe that it is week 12 already. This season is flying by. Last week we saw the contenders really pull away and the playoff pictures is certainly clearer except in the pathetic NFC West where the division winner has a real shot at going 7-9 which would be really embarrassing. It is entirely possible this weekends Grey Cup winner could have won that division. The best part is, that this is your Monday Night game. How pissed off would you be if you’re ESPN. Relax they will still make a ton of money anyway.

Last week I did pretty well all things considering. I nailed three parlays which somehow all hinged on the Chargers beating the Broncos, which they did in ridiculous fashion.

Same thing as usual, home teams will be in CAPS, line is from www.sportsbook.com. Continue reading

NFL Week 10 Picks

Half the NFL season has passed us and after winning my office pool for three weeks and finally finding myself in the money after one perfect parlay (note never parlay Patriots vs. Browns it will screw you) I have decided that my picks may in fact not be that bad, I just needed some time to warm up.

If you feel like a stud handicapper than I would suggest heading to www.sportsbook.com it has a perfect parlay game set up where you can guess the spread winners and if you get all of them right you win $100,000. No cost to sign up.

Week 1 NFL Picks

It feels like it has been long time since Drew Brees and Peyton Manning battled it out in Super Bowl XLIV but another NFL season is finally upon us. After another boring four weeks of preseason the real games will begin Thursday with a repeat of last year’s NFC Championship game, Minnesota at New Orleans.

Week 1 is always pretty difficult to judge because everyone is talking up their team and no one is really sure what weaknesses each team will have. I still remember Buffalo giving away their first game against New England last year and Oakland being surprisingly good against San Diego but both still found a way to lose. I expect this week to present its fair share of surprises as well.

Three important points:
1) Picks will be against the spread
2) Spread will be provided by http://www.sportsbook.com
3) Home team will be in caps Continue reading
