A friendly reminder from your pals at The Lowdown: If it’s not worth talking about, then it’s definitely the Not News of the Week.

There is often a debate over who breast implants are really for but a recent incident should clear things up. A woman working at a dentist’s office was shot by a gunman with a semi-automatic rifle but came away no worse for wear. That’s because the bullet was stopped by her size-D silicone implant. The woman, who incidentally is a mother of three and grandmother of two, had her implants upsized from Bs to Ds a couple of years ago. Police believe that if she didn’t have the implants, she would have been killed. So when a woman says that she got the implants for herself, now you can’t dismiss it right away. Continue reading

The Pirate Bay Founders Found Guilty

In a verdict that will send shockwaves throughout the interweb, the four founders of The Pirate Bay website were found guilty of violating Swedish copyright laws.  They were sentences to a year in prison and ordered to pay 30 million Swedish kronor ($3.5 million US) in damages. Continue reading

Last Call: God Bless Lawyers

It’s been a while since we’ve done a last call.  Then again, I can’t remember the last time we had three posts in a day.

A man who was thrown out of Yankee Stadium last August is suing the City of New York, the Yankees, the NYPD, and the two officers that threw him out for violating his First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendment rights. Actually, it’s the New York Civil Liberties Union filing the lawsuit on his behalf but mentioning that would just be being picky.

The man says that he tried to use the washroom when God Bless America was being sung. When he wouldn’t stay still for the song, he was ejected from the stadium. The NYPD said the man was being rowdy and smelled of alcohol. Welcome to a case of he said, they said that will grip the nation until they finish reading this story. Continue reading
