Sunday Link-Off: Not News This Week
It seemed like there was a lot that happened this week but none of it was important. The news cycle just kept going with the usual Trump/Clinton bullshit that everyone is getting tired of. The rest of the world just kind of rolled along. The only interesting thing was discussing pardoning Edward Snowden which I’m less sold on now because of questions of Wikileaks apparent support of Russian interests.
Anyway, it’s Sunday which means that we’re doing the links. Since the Emmys are tonight, let’s kick off with Game of Thrones’s Sophie Turner.
The multimillion dollar interview offer from Mark Cuban to Donald Trump and Peter Thiel bankrolling a case against Gawker, shows that America’s press is now in control of the billionaires. We can say that in a year or so if Mister rather than President Trump launches Trump News Network. (MacLean’s)

Overwatch Review: Heroes Never Die
It’s been three months since Overwatch was released. Most reviews of the game dropped within a week of release which was before the game’s competitive mode was added to the game in June and even one balance change or patch was made. While I put in a lot of time into Overwatch in its early days, I felt that the game needed some time to breathe to see how enjoyable the game would be once the competitive mode was added, players had more experience, more weekly brawls were shown off and Blizzard added some additional content.
There was certainly a chance that the early buzz for Overwatch could have given way to numerous issues and complaints once the mass audience got a hold of it. Fortunately, Overwatch has largely lived up to the hype.
F1 Power Rankings: Singapore Grand Prix
Formula One has left Europe and is hoping on the plane for flyaway races. With seven races over three continents remaining and only two points separating Hamilton and Rosberg, it’s all to play for. So who has the upper-hand as the season comes to a close? Well, the answer is obvious but let’s still consult the F1 Power Rankings.
Wednesday Link-Off: Deplorables
If anyone tells you that they know exactly what is or isn’t a turning point in an election in the moment, they’re lying. How many times have we thought that Trump said something disqualifying in this election cycle? Besides, when David Duke is acting like he loves being called a Trump deplorable, maybe there’s something to accusing some Trump supporters of being racist.

That’s the same Donald Trump who will likely have made a bigger gaffe while I’m writing this sentence. That’s the same Donald Trump whose entire campaign is built around saying outlandish thing to dominate the election news cycle, a strategy that got him the nomination and possibly the presidency. Sunday Link-Off: Follow the Money
I’m pretty sure that I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: Following the news can get really boring and depressing sometimes. It’s Clinton’s a liar. Trump’s a racist. Both are in scandals over their charitable organizations. All I want is for November to arrive so we can have this damn election over and done.

The first campaign event featuring both candidates (albeit separately) happened last Wednesday. Both sides felt that host Matt Lauer was unfair to their candidate and soft on the other. However, both sides agreed that Lauer was terrible at his job and should stick to morning show puff pieces. Even his own network agrees. (CNN)

Batman – Episode 1 Review: My Parents Are Dead
The latest in Telltale’s ongoing series of series based on licensed property is one that has a lot of fans excited. Even with the critical flops that were Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Knight on PC, Batman video games certainly generate quite a bit of buzz. Telltale’s take on Batman is very familiar to Telltale Games regulars but is a new take for Batman gamers as it puts as much an emphasis on Batman as it does Bruce Wayne.
StarCraft II: Nova Covert Ops – Mission Pack 2 Impressions: Remember
When you look at characters that would have interesting stories that continue on from StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, I wouldn’t have considered Nova among them. The likes of Zagara or Alarak who played bit parts in the various SC2 expansions could have interesting stories following the Into The Void missions based on LOTV and the epilogue. However, Blizzard got off on the right foot with the first mission pack of Nova Covert Ops. The second mission pack is a bit of a miss, though.
