Selecting a Worst of Music song this week might have been the most difficult task that the WoM award committee has faced. That’s because six of the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot 100 have already won the WoM and there was actually a good song on the list too. So of the remaining three, this week’s song comes from WoM standard-bearer Pitbull with his latest single called Give Me Everything.
The songs lyrics make you want to rip your ears off twice in the first 30 seconds. First, Pitbull namechecks Kodak twice and the other guy I don’t recognize talked about the rapture. Pitbull’s lyrics suck at the best of times but he’s sunk to a new low if he’s selling ads in his songs now. And clearly the rapture didn’t happen if you’re reading this but that’s what everyone keeps talking about. That line could only have worked last Friday and won’t work again until December 2012. Fortunately, Pitbull mumbles all his lines so we don’t really have to hear them that well. Back to product placement for a moment: Pitbull also sold product placement for Voli, BlackBerry, Kodak, and more I’m sure. You’ve got a love a song whose primary purpose is selling shit. And why must popular hip-hop music use backing music that sounds like it’s being played off a VCR with the tracking screwed up.
So congrats, Pitbull and associates. You’ve won the prestigious Worst of Music award for this week.
Have a better WoM candidate for next week? Drop it in the comments.

I’m pretty sure that was music placement in an advert. lol
Anyway, I thought you might appreciate this article on Belinda’s “Egoista” (featuring Pitbull).
The guy’s a sell out (like, obviously).
There’s a ton of articles on that site about the ‘music’ industry and why it is the way it is … in case you are interested.
My WoM nomination would be Rihanna and Briteny at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.
Kids may be getting dumber these days but the whole agenda to dumb them down is now getting really blatant.
